Respect for a Mustang driver

Was coming out of my school parking lot and spotted a 2010 Mustang GT pulling out from the other side..it was all blacked out just like my Camaro.. At the red light we were next to eachother, he lowers his window and i lower mine, he says "nice ride man" without even looking at me because he couldn't get his eyes off my car.. We stayed talking about our mods, paint jobs, etc even after the light turned green and all the 15 cars behind us were beeping.. He said " bad.. a$$.. ride!" and we left

Nice to know that MUSTANGS have respect for Camaros, very rare to see this.. Just wanted to let you guys know!

Couldn't one of you have thought to say, hey let's take this conversation to the side of the road and let all these other cars pass? I don't mean to be a killjoy but it'd be a better story if not for that.

There are lots of people out there who can drive one kind of car and still respect and admire that car's competition. It's good that you found one of that kind. Of course there are plenty of Camaro owners who'd go out of their way to disrespect the Mustang, too.

In my neck of the woods (Metro-Detroit) there is plenty of mutual respect for all three; Camaro, Mustang and Challenger.

My brother is the prez of a local Mustang club; some of these Blue Oval guys are tuning 600+ RWHP. You can't help but respect that.

Normally, I am not not a street racer, but if some slappy comes along and begs for it and the traffic conditions are right....it is on. I had a GT500 fool with me once and I "spanked" him big time...he probably has a little more respect for the Bow Tie now.

Sometimes I drive the Camaro to the nearest red light, park it, go home and get the Mustang, drive it to the light, park it next to the Camaro, roll down the window, look at the Camaro, get out of the Mustang, get in the Camaro, roll down the window.................etc., etc., etc.

yeah, but are you being respectful when you are in the Mustang or Camaro, it's important to know on this forum. Apparently it's tough to respect people at all out there based on some of these threads.

Not sure about that I do wave respectfully at the other car. When I race them I usually drive one or the other 30 feet or so, stop the car, turn off the motor, get in the other car, start her up, drive 30 feet, stop the car, etc., etc. It always seems like the last one I get in wins.

It should go both ways. I saw a really nice maroon Mustang GT with aftermarket wheels on it on my way to work. Didn't get the chance to exchange compliments at a light but I gave him a thumbs up and he returned the gesture.

My experience has been positive all around with both Camaro and Challenger drivers.

A 2010 doesn't have much choice BUT to respect our Camaros.

From my experience, the true car enthusiasts that know their way around the bay and how to turn a wrench respect any nice, good car, whether it's their taste or not. Then you have the guys that went to the dealership and bought the "transformers car" and spell camaro with an e, "camero" or bought a mustang because their girlfriend said they'd look cool in it and they hate on everything else out there.

When I see people hating on other cars I think, "I wonder how much he overpaid to have his exhaust and intake professionally installed because he couldn't do it himself"
