Sierra Club & Humane Treatment of Coyotes

The Sierra Club and the U.S. Forest Service were presenting an alternative to the Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population. It seems that after years of the ranchers using the tried and true method of shooting or trapping the predators, the Sierra Club had a "more humane" solution to this issue. What they were proposing was for the animals to be captured alive. The males would then be castrated and let loose again. This was ACTUALLY proposed by the Sierra Club and by the U.S. Forest Service. All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of minutes. Finally an old fellow wearing a big cowboy hat in the back of the conference room stood up, tipped his hat back and said; "Son, I don't think you understand our problem here... these coyotes ain't F**^%*' our sheep... they're eatin' 'em!"

The meeting never really got back to order. . ..

Nope got plenty in my neighborhood, people think they're cute and they feed them. Just a matter of time before someone's cat or pocket pooch gets eatten and causes a stir.

yeah cutting their nuts off ain't gonna make them stop attacking ranch animals! Last week my brother in law woke up to a bunch of loud noises he goes out and a pack of coyotes are attacking the horses that he boards for someone else! We live here in Florida and where he lives is not really that far from town. It's getting to be a big problem here now but back when I was a kid there were not coyotes now they seem to be a growing problem just like the alligators because they are "protected". Gators need to be thinned out and coyotes need to be erradicated(SP) they are not native they were brought here, they need to go.

Not here in my town, NEVER saw one in 43 years I have lived in the same place and my grandparents who are in thier 90's have never see them around here! They need to go,they are destructive, they brought them here to eat road kill a few years ago just like they did up north, I'd rather have the road kill. Anyways not trying to argue just saying they are worhtless and provide NO benefit to the community, they eat or hurt farm animals so bad to where they have to be put down at the owners expense or pay costly vet bills to fix them back up, they carry rabies like other wild animals I could go on but I won't.

It's because coyotes have an insane ability to adapt to whatever environment they're thrown into. Therefore they always have the option to expand their habitats...and humans provide them with a constant source of food, whether it be pets or garbage.

They need to be controlled somehow but they ARE native to this part of the world.

and just for the record I googled if they are native to Florida and they are NOT, but it says they are now in ALMOST all counties not all. So I was partially correct in my original statement. And yes we humans are culled on a daily basis it's called death.

Coyotes are native to North and Central America. Which continent is Florida on again?
