I knew a few but they were either the thin, neat guys, friends with all the girls . you know; gay. No really, not a dig. [know for a fact 1 was doing "movies" how he got a new purple 4th gen [color hoice might of been a tip off nice guy though, work with him at haha funny Rawhide internet services.]

Other ones were tough guys who got ones wrecked out of a family owned junkyard and fixed it up. And sad to say most of those guy died or got messed up having a powerful car to young.

[kid next door almost went that way, still in HS and his family does tractor pulls, so he puts a 800hp engine into a 3rd gen Camaro, well he wrecked it and 2 firebirds in about 8 months. Till he wised up.]

Honestly, I love the T/A (owner bias). T Tops, while considered a bygone of the mullet era are still so bitchin'. Leave 'em off and at lights people always give 2nd, 3rd, and 4th looks.

Unfortunately, when I got my license a few of the '02 30th Ann. cars were probably still on the lot somewhere so I settled for a '96 Monte Z34 with the 3.4 LQ1. For 3400lbs it was pretty underpowered compared to the 3400 Camaros and the 3800II that got put in later.

Im 16, i dont have my license yet, get it in august. I think it is fine if you have your head on straight and dont do anything stupid. Some kid at my school had a yellow GTO that he had for 3 months than crashed it. He always drove fast.

im 17 and think the late 4th gens are sweet. in fact, i think if i wasnt handed down a 93 chevy truck, i wouldve wanted one of those, especially a Z/28 or SS. but ive made my truck my own, headers, dual exhaust. sounds good. i would do the same if i had a camaro

I had my 71 RS Camaro when I was in High School and there were many other kids in my school with Camaros, Novas, Chevelles and all kinds of awesome muscle cars, we had our own huge section where we all parked everyday in the school parking lot, it was so cool, and I think the 2000 SS Camaro is awesome just like all other year Camaros.

Unless they have a 2011 Mustang or some Nissan 350/370 that mommy bought..

That '00 will still give any pre '10 GT a run for it's money. Stock vs light mods on an '02 last saturday net me just 1-2 tenths off the other guy.

He was running intake and exhaust plus he had a few years on his car vs mine.

And my reaction was in the high 8s, so I was SLEEEEPY off the line.

That said.. that SS is no slouch, and for the low budget tune/race crowd it's going to be a contender for a long while. At least until the GTOs come down in price (which by then will be beat to s**t).

Well you just gotta get use to that, even in the Camaro/Firebird world there is little love. We may be civil at times but prejudice and jealousy runs deep.

Base Camaro guys wish they had a IROC/Z28/RS/SS and the IROC/Z28/RS/SS guys wish they had a Firebird, Firebird guys wish they had a TA, TA guys wish it was a TTA. TTA guys laugh at everyone. [Cept a modded Buick GN.]

2nd gen world is the most open, 3rd - 4th gen full of punk kids. 5th gen is still a rich boys club where you pay to play

Flame Suite Activated.

Only problem with having nice cars in High School is that even if YOU are a great driver, a good amount of the other kids there WON'T be, so expect dings, dents, busted tail lights, and no one to yell at when you spot it. I had a '93 Camaro LT and has just gotten it back from the body shop (did something stupid in and scraped up the paint pretty good), first day back at high school I go to hop in and leave for the day, HUGE dent right above my wheel well, someone probably backed into it
