Question Sounds that wake ya' from a deep sleep.

Dudes,

Which sounds interrupt your good night's sleep?

For me it's often some mofo callin' after our bedtime; if ya' answer it, the annoyance of the call will keep ya' awake, so ya' let it go. What's really crapped out is when the SOB lets it ring interminably, and THEN calls again to repeat the nerve tightening assault with an even longer set of ringings.

How about the classical pounding on the neighbor's door who has no intention of answering? We've heard it go on next door several times for 4-5 hours!

Then of course there is the classical gunfire between rival gangs, machine guns mostly; this went on nearly every other night in Oakland, CA, whence we came.

Tell me what brings you outa' YOUR well deserved rest.

The goddamn dog having a nightmare is the most common reason Im woken up.

The baby will wake me, but for only a second. Wifey gets her at night! =)

Nothing. I slept through hurricane Hugo. Went right over our house and ripped a piece of our roof off. I was still out.

As a deployed guy, I get it almost every night from the drunk kids out at the smoke pit right out side my window...shouting and laughing at each other...breaking shit...I've gotten up on more than one occasion to go flame a few idiots...

Thats cause you live in Fontucky!

For me its not sounds, its a GD fluorescent light. I am a fireman and when we get a call at night 1 fluorescent light comes on before the audio alarm. Wakes me up every time, even if I don't have to go on the call.

Let's see, a power transformer blowing up on the pole outside the house, a tornado going over the house in the wee hours and the sound of crunching metal in the street from somebody flipping their SUV.

Otherwise, I sleep soundly.

My dog chasing a rabbit in her dream......and my daughters cat crying to get into her bedroom in the middle of the night! You would think that the cat has learned by now to get in the room before she shuts the door but Noooooooo she wants in at 2 AM.

I think I fixed that one though.....told my daughter to crack her door at night or I am shooting the cat.............
