Well, not the first time I've met him actually...We met Rener, Ryron and Rorion when I took my sister and Xtine to a women's self-defense class at the Gracie Academy in Torrance, CA.

My sister, her friend and myself attended an MMA event here in Pomona, CA called Respect In The Cage last night:

We went to watch my sister's friend, Brian "T-City" Ortega (currently a brown belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu) fight.

He won by unanimous decision this time, but during his last fight, he won by rear naked choke!

Awesome! Do you train in BJJ with them? I just started a few months ago and because we live in such a small town my instructor and everyone in his program is enrolled at gracieuniversity.com. Great site. It doesn't get any better than the Gracie family in BJJ. Cool pics. I hope to meet the Gracies one day too.

They have put on a class here a few times at the local MMA Gym. Just when you think your really good, these guys show up. I would not want to go to the ground with them, they'll hurt ya!!

nope, just has a famous last name in the world of MMA. the newer generation of Gracies are selling the crap out of the family name... Reylson Gracie is making bank off of it in las vegas.. in fact there are all sorts of complaints about how he's ruining the Gracie name down there by pretty much stealing peoples money with his "teaching system." and Rorion Gracie is making money by telling people that eating banannas will help you lose weight... who woulda thought?? the older generation gracies get MASSIVE respect from me as they were the god fathers of Jiu Jitsu..

You can't disagree with the truth brother!... i've seen it first hand.. i'm disgusted with the "now" Gracies... they run with the name because they can.. it's a real shame.. put either of them against Royce Gracie in his prime and they would be praying to their uncle.. or.. brother or..step brother.. or whoever he is to them.... didn't want to start an argument guys.. only wanted to throw the facts... either way MMA is the sport of the future...

Enrolled in the Gracie University and I have the Gracie Combatives DVD set! I wish I could dedicate more time to training and get my blue belt, but I'm also studying for M$ certifications.

if you are calling me a Gracie hater then you're wrong... i'm sorry but im still defending the fact the the true Gracies in the sport that didn't use their name for money are absolutely amazing... I have challenge Rorion and Reylson to a MMA style fight myself.. and there has been no answer... i'm sorry... I REALLY AM... but believe it or not... they are riding on a name...
