the price is well into z06 or gtr money. ford is going a bit crazy with the new 5.0. pretty ambitious, maybe it will perform well enough to justify the tag? I remain skeptical. I think the lower tier boss 302s are great performers per dollar though

I wonder if it can keep up with a GT-R.

i dont know if its really WORTH that much, but the list of features DOES add up to a lot of money if you do it yourself......

But with only 50 being built.....yawn who cares this is for the people thatll just throw it a garage. You wont see one on the street possibly EVER.

the boss 302r is limited to class rules. robert yates was involved with the fr500c effort and got 550hp from those. the 302R is better in every way it can be. it also spins 8200 at shift point.

The engine in the FR500GT we drove is essentially a Roush-Yates engine from a Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype and actually is down 16 horsepower from the 550-hp engine Davis wants for production Man Racers. The $12,000 transmission is a six-speed sequential Hollinger unit used in the Australian Touring Car Series. It works like a motorcycle transmission: Pull the lever rearward for upshifts, press forward to downshift. The clutch isn’t needed to upshift, but you need to lift the throttle. Davis says the unit in the production cars should be capable of foot-to-the-floor shifting. (The Boy Racer, incidentally, uses a conventional six-speed Tremec manual.

there is more power in this coyote than anyone realizes. the coyote isnt just ANY old engine that happened down the road. its a race engine for the street.

“In keeping with the spirit of the original, the new Boss 302 engine achieves its maximum power output at speeds at or above 7,500 rpm,” says Harrison. “Unlike the original engine, however, low-speed torque and driveability are uncompromised thanks to twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) technology and computer-aided engineering design tools.”

the SSX does look better.

sorry, the tires arent listed. i guess you can use whatever you prefer on the track.

Borrowing from the Ford Daytona Prototype engines, the resulting short-runners-in-the-box design virtually eliminates lag when the throttle is snapped open while producing peak power output at high rpm.

“The effect of the new intake design is dramatic,” says Harrison. “When I took the prototype car to Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak, he took a short drive, tossed me the keys and said ‘Book it…it’s in the program.’ He knew what we were onto, and that’s really the point where the Boss 302 was born.”

im getting that intake no matter how much it is.

I thought this was supposed to be a turnkey track car? Seems odd this comes with street tires.
