Tools for Xmas Qs

I may have more then one question and others can bump in if they got a question about what tool or brand to ask for Xmas.
--------

I want a 90* drill

who's got one, brand, usefulness, comments......

Don't really need cordless, only know I want 3-5 amps for enough umph.
Not clue what they equates into cordless that sell by volts.
But what I have used amp wise for regular drills and was happy.
[3 might jerk ya around sometimes, 5+ takes no crap]

I drill allot of holes, allot, allot, allot of holes daily.

Got a drill press, not quick enough or mobile enough, it just collects dust.

Would love if they had one with the hex shank chuck.

Tired of the elbow up, high position of a regular drill when you do it allot.
[part in a vise drilling down]
Like the idea of elbows down, right in front of me.
I got a 90* attachment but then ya got the flip n flop when it bites.

Though if I could find a cheap way to punch 1/8in holes in 1/8 in thick steel, that would work well also, it the starter holes that are the work. After that its all cake as the step drill bits just tear through with no effort. But shoulder is tire of drilling all those starter holes in typical fashion.

Did I ramble enough???

So who's happy with their 90* drill????

Sure you've seen them before, in the early years of cordless they started as cordless screw drivers, then they stuck a drill head on them but the technology sucked then, couldn't get any power to the small head. It has imporved allot. Sears is running their commercial for their tight place 90* hammer drill all over the TV. [but I don't need a hammer one, probably not good for drilling lots of holes in steel, hammering the bit too.]

The next gen of the small cordless ones, like you see pro's on TV using like on this old house / holmes on homes. Drill is the size of a kids toy but drives em deep n hard all day long. That has carried over into the 90*

Before to get any umph behind it, you had to use a 90* attachment

Right angle drill. All I can say, this looks like a tank. My dad has 2 Milwaukee drills from the early- mid 80's, possibly older. They were used to drill through concrete and all sorts of stuff. He had them in his machine shop. Anyways they are not right angle drills, but we still use them today, and they are as good as ever. Here is a nice one. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053

Yea that was the problem even just a few years ago. only way to get a 90* drill and have it any good is to get a monster like that or use an attachment.
Now they are small and powerful.

Problem is you can still find plenty that are still junk, hobby, kitchen draw for ladies 90* drills. Why I don't just go out n buy a cheap one like regular drills.
Id like to know for sure its not gonna crap out on me as even the "cheap" ones aren't cheap, why Im asking for it, for Xmas

Though regular drills I never spend more then $30 on a corded B&D and get 5-7 years of constant use till it poops out. Which is fine with me. Im ready for a new one by then. [for me I drill so much, if the drill is crap, it will burn up within a week ]

If your looking at a shop machine for punching holes, look into a ironworker punch or a Rotex machine. If your looking at portables .. Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Bosch are good.
