Quick pipe/tube bending info on scaling up

Ok Im kinda thinking out loud here and hope IM right, but maybe someone can offer some info.

Im moving up from 1/2 in the 3/4 in and I got it all down with 1/2in, but don't want to waste allot of material figuring out my bends in 3/4in.

Since the die to bend 3/4 is bigger / also a bit longer, and as such I won't get as tight of a bend. Which is fine, long as the end, end up where I need them.

just going by length, the 3/4 die is 1-1/2 in longer,

so my first mark is usually 8in from the end of the tube for 1/2in, which I center in the die and bend.

Do I split the difference or make the mark at 9-1/2?

Or is there some kind of free formula I could / should use???

Manual hydro bender, no computer, or software, trial n error for the most part but don't have allot of 3/4in on hand to waste.

haven't done much pipe bending, but have done quite a bit of conduit. I just bend it till I get the bend I need then cut the end off to the length. Yeah it creates alot of waste, but I don't gotta pay for the crap.

btw, what kind are you bending? you said how big but not what kind.

Cheap garbage pipe but to close to holidays to spend money to just play, yet I figured it out that way kinda. Add an inch to all measurments which was right somehow but then I ran into room bending, but some bends ran into the bender, when I had more to go, [squarish shape] bigger pipe doesn't bend as sharp as nice either. Then had a brain fart. I could slug the 3/4 pipe with 1/2 scrap. Making what I had got done so far still useful.

But making it so much easier, cut the sucker dead in half, makes it easier to mirror the two sides better, then trying to bend n tweak the whole thing in one piece. Was the best thing I could of done, was afraid of problems like that but it works out better. Should of done it sooner. Had that small section of 3/4 for months.
