New daily driver? -opinions?

I am considering buying my father's Victory Red 2001 GMC extended cab 4WD pick-up truck. It only has 22,000 miles or so in it & is in excellent condition. I could drive it when it is incliment weather instead of Ruby. I grew up driving trucks but have not driven one for a long time. If I get it my exhaust & CAI would probably have to wait. I was really looking foward to that. What do you think about that? (excuse poor quality pic - just a scan of an old pic)

Your better off with a four wheel drive when the snow is on the ground, how often is that??? Personally, I'd buy the truck for a daily driver and save the Camaro for the nice days.

Depending on what you was going to pay, it would be hard to pass up that truck. Almost 10 years old and only 22k miles? That thing is practically brand new!

Most defiantly take the truck. good idea to have a second vehicle. And a truck at that. Can haul stuff and drive it when the weather is bad to save you nice looking Camaro.

Definitely buy the truck and park the Camaro for the winter snow.

Get the truck!!! I can't stand driving a car in the snow, ever since I bought my first 4x4 back in '94. Plus, I can't take days off when it snows no matter how bad the weather is. Snow and/or Ice and/or salt = Camaro stays in the driveway.

I would help dad out and buy it and also do something else for him too.
Cook him something or spend time with him. After all, how long will he be around?

Secondly, best thing to do right now is to have the other vehicle.
You can always mod when ready.

It will save your Camaro on miles overall and like you said a bad weather driver.

Enjoy your day Ruby!

Yeah, I will probably buy it. It lists bluebook for around $13,000. What do you guys think would be fair to offer him since he is my father. I don't think he would want me to pay top dollar for it, but he is now going to have much less income since my mother recently died. I want to be fair, but don't want to hurt his feelings either way. Input appreciated. (this is not against the rules on here is it????)

Could you just ask him what he wants for it? $13k would already be a fairly decent deal for a 4WD extended cab truck with so few miles on it. Used truck market is just ridiculous with pricing right now.

If it was a 2003+ model you might have some competition from me.

I would go for it for sure... Especially from Dad, you should know what you are getting. I would let him set the price and try to help him out.
