Lotus :^(

Lotus is(was) by far my favorite auto manufacturer. My first car love was a 1996 Lotus esprit S4s, I was 11 years old and my Dad and I were at the LA auto show. My dad convinced the guy controlling the velvet rope that we were going to buy an s4s and he let us sit in it. Since that day I have been obsessed with lotus'.

If they didn't fall apart every 10 feet and cost thousands of dollars a year in maintenance costs, I would own an Esprit instead of my Camaro without even thinking twice about it.

However, things have gone from bad to worse at lotus. Their new ownership (who installed some arrogant punkass who doesn't know crap about lotus' history or sports cars in general really) has totally lost sight of what makes a lotus a lotus.

That's ridiculous. I've always loved Lotus cars, but that's just stupid.

like 2400lbs is really all that heavy lol. they are making the shift from super low weight, low power (but high weight to power ratio), to low weigh, high power (still with a great weight to power ratio).

They need to add the weight to accomadate the incredible balloon heads that a good portion of Lotus drivers have.

Yeah, and the result will be equivalent acceleration but worse handling, braking, fuel economy, etc.

Wow, what a dick move by the CEO. Definitely showed that he doesn't give a damn about the Lotus fans, hopefully the board at Lotus will correct that situation.
