GoPro HD Motorsports Camera

I was just curious if anyone has a GoPro camera, I'm looking to see if it is worth the money. I have been in the market for one for a while, but never took the plunge.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I've used the NON-HD version...it's OK (image quality is so-so). The mount is good though, seems like it's real solid. I've seen footage shot with the HD version and it looks real good...for $300 (or whatever they are going for), doesn't seem like a bad deal if you want to make some road videos.

BTW, I do work in the video production world.

Cool! As you can tell by my username, I would love to work in the video production world! Thats what I'm working towards.

I thought the price was nice, but I'm wondering if it would be a good investment?

well "a good investment" depends...if you can use it to make $$$ or at least build up a portfolio/reel to get yourself work, than YES, it's a good investment. There's plenty of videos on youtube shot with it, take a look if you'd like to see the image quality...here's a video where they actually sent one to space...

Feel free to PM me any questions.

We sell quite a few of these, and we have always received great feedback. At this year's SEMA I stopped by the GoPro booth and they had a very cool new double camera housing with a cable to sync two cameras so that you can now film your antics in 3D.

I'm not really into the 3D television craze, but I have to admit the footage was pretty freakin' cool.

Did you happen to take any pictures or video of it?

I have a GoPro HD camera and I love it. I need to get a new lens kit because I believe I scratched the heck out of it somehow, but the video quality is awesome. The suction cup mount is rediculously sturdy.

I still have a difficult time with wind noise, but I think that has more to do with my car's exhaust system being completely stock, and the sound isn't loud enough to overpower the wind noise when the camera is mounted outside the car.

Anyway, I'm looking into buying a second camera and borrowing my friend's GoPro when we make the trip to C5Fest2

I think it is a great investment. I have had a Non-HD version for about a year now, and the audio is not great, but you get 170 degree wide angle view, that is great for road trips, and track time.

No, I did not. It was pretty cool, and the guy from GoPro said it would be out soon (around the first of the year if I remember correctly). But this is their booth (basically identical to SEMA). They used the black glasses, not red/cyan, but I think this online version would require the red/cyan glasses to view. They were playing it on one of those new 3D televisions.

When I embed that video to the Camaro5 site it separates the images into 2 videos, so you will have to view it off site.

That's wierd that when embedding the link, it puts the video in side-by-side mode...
