Any Automotive techs in the Houston area...
I have a question to any one who will be helpful. I am currently doing some reasearch on my own but would like to hear from people who have experience.
Here's my dillema, I currently attend UTI Houston. I was all excited to start and couldnt wait to be out and live on my own, but the second I started it was NOTHING like the school was promoted to me. It's like being in high school all over again with all the rediculous rules, sitting in a CLASS listening to a instructor talk for 6 hours, labs every now and then, and half the students there are a total joke and the others are fully grown adults still playing teachers pet. I was promised HANDS ON work and so far all I have done was take apart an engine and put it back together with out any thurough explaination.....any 4 year old can take apart a puzzle and put it back together... So since I am so let down by this school are there any ohter schools here in the Houston area that will do what UTI promised me? You know hands on learning, field experience, and possibly a jump start to my career? i.e having connections to companies that are looking for entry level technicians? Thanks - Sam |
