Was this the T3 Camaro?

A 24-year-old female extra was "seriously injured" on the Indiana set of "Transformers 3" yesterday after a car stunt went terribly wrong.

Officials say the accident happened during a driving scene ... when an object went through the windshield of a car, hitting the driver.

An extra on the set described the accident to WLS-TV ... saying, "The vehicle was being towed by another vehicle ... the cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull, apparently. "

Cops have confirmed ... "The equipment pertaining to the stunt was impounded by the Indiana State Police."

The victim was airlifted to a local hospital. We're told she's currently in critical condition.

They really try hard not to let stuff like this happen.

XXX someone got killed

When I was working on 2 fast 2 furious a stunt driver almost got his head crush in, the corvette wreck was not supposed to happen, and the supra wreck was much more violent than planned.

Hope she gets better

Very sad. Why did they use cable? Chain is much safer in the event of a break, no?

I can't imagine why it would be. It will still whip around like a cable.

The saddest thing is she risked Her life and may loose Her life for what is sure to be a horrible movie!

You know, some people don't really care for plot or character development in a movie. Sometimes, they just want to see alien robots blow stuff up.

Whether you like the movies or not, the franchise is extremely popular and TF3 will do well in the box office. TF1 was the 3rd highest grossing movie of 2007 at $319M and TF2 was the 4th highest grossing film of 2009 at $836M.

What sucks is that she was just an extra...not even a high paid stunt person...

I went to school with the nephew of the stunt driver...last name Maloof...
