It's ok to have oj occassionaly but it's better to eat your cals. Depending on how much oatmeal the oj would be adding more carbs so the ratio's would most likely be off.

whats the take on a banana here? since it is high in sugar. Banana vs. Apple Slices? i like to eat either of these with a little natural pb

also have any of u tried those vitamin water zero naturally sweetend? bought a case of them and they do not seem bad. I was reading the ingredients and the sweetner is that natural stevia (idk to much about that) and the rest was packed with vitamins and minerals. less than 1g sugar, 2 carb, 0 cal..... I still only drink water but thought this may be ok to add as a drink for a cheat day instead of soda.

Calorie tappering can be done in different ways. the two methods I normally use would be to eat carbs earlier in the day and reduce them later in the day but it is important to eat carbs before and after your workouts and even sometimes during. This is how I normally eat

The other method I use when cutting is a bit more restrictive. Below is a typical days eating for me when cutting. This was posted a few weeks ago I am now at 177lbs.

Mt stats are

57 yrs old on 1/26/2012, I know I'm getting old lol.
6'2"
currently 180 lbs. I bulk to 185 and cut to 175, I am cutting now so it's reflected in my diet.

Weght training days

meal 1 1/2 cup oatmeal
1 whole egg
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 tbs flax seed or almonds
1/2 cup fat free milk
1/2 banana
1/4 cup strawberries

meal 2 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg hrd boiled
1 slice whole wheat bread

meal 3 pre workout shake 2 scoops protein powder 1 tbs dextrose

meal 4 post workout 5oz chicken breast 1 cup (cooked) brown rice
1 cup veggies

meal 5 Protein shake

Meal 6 shrimp and avacado salad

before bed snack low or no fat cottage cheese.

If you notice the last part of the day has almost no carbs

Cardio days

meal 1 veggie omlet 5 egg whites 1 whole egg

meal 2 protein shake

meal 3 pre cardio 1 scoop BCAA's with water

meal 4 post workout protein source (chicken, turkey lean meat etc.) an 1 cup veg.

meal 5 protein shake

meal 6 salad with protein source

before bed snack cottage cheese

notice that when cutting cardio days have very restricted carbs.

I use olive oil and avacardo's a lot, when I don't I suppliment with Udo's choice (omega 3 &6 fatty acids)

Everyone's body is different so ratio's can be adjusted accordingly but this type of diet typically works well for most people

I got like this crinkle cutter tool. Got it from my mom, i think its pampered chef lol I skin them all, then cut them to the small circles. I then stack like 2 of the circles on top of each other and cut them long ways to look like little fries. Cover a baking sheet in alluminum foil and place them all on there and sprinkle cinnamon all over. and flip them around. Bake at 425 degrees for 35 min. after 15 minutes I take them out and flip them, then back in to finish! taste awesome.

I only eat a 1/2 cup (dry) so 1 cup cooked of oats in the morning too. My meals are pretty consistant through the day, but my biggest meal is lunch since I lift in the afternoon. I want to make sure I've got the energy to make it through the routine

Almond milk is pretty tasty, but (at least for me) I use 2%, because a lot of the rest of my food has very little fat. You need to make sure you get enough fat in your diet, and milk is one of the ways I get my fat in.

Banana's aren't too bad... they are a simpler carb, but like CFD pointed out, they have potasium. I stay away from fruits completely when I cut, but not when I gain weight. I also don't cut for much more than about 8-12 weeks. Then I maintain through the beach months, and start EATING in the fall. I'm going to start early this year, because I want to put on a bunch of weight before next spring!

Nah, I just stick to good ol' 1% dairy. I'm from a farming/ranch family, almond milk is almost sacreligious.
