Holy crap, with a corner banking like that I can now see why you were going 89. Are you sure you were not running at Talladega or at Daytona?

Oh wait, your pic is just sideways. Sorry, my bad..

Yeah, I agree with you there.

Surprised no one commented about you driving and taking a pic. Distracted driving.

I'm lucky I have not been busted for this in the past. I can't tell you how many times I've gone through Atlanta or Tampa doing 80+ miles per hour keeping up with traffic and still seeing even faster cars on the road. Where the speed limit is all over the place; 65, 55, 40, 60... on 5+ lanes each direction.

Normally though if you're the only one on the road you know you're going to be more likely to get pulled over.

Good luck with getting the fine reduced. Be safe.

Think about it all you want, now you know what the consequences are. Face it, you knew you were way beyond the limit. Your just pissing and moaning here because you got caught. I live in the state of Minnesota and I know the speed limits are for the state. I live in the northern part of the state and there is a posted speed limit sign posted on the highways between towns. Since they are not posted doesn't mean that I get to drive as fast as I want until a hit a populated area where it is posted. It means I am supposed to drive 55 unless otherwise posted! I even think here 40 mph over the limit used to you license taken away.

I didn't hear anyone whining, crying or trying to weasel out of their current situation. I heard someone with little experience in this area (because it was his first offense) asking for advice from fellow enthusiasts. I though that was what we are here for...not to insult his manhood.

The guys who are telling you to "man up" and pay the ticket aren't real men at all...they're real idiots. Take it from a lady with a lot of speeding ticket experience...NEVER GO TO COURT WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY...it's stupid and with a violation like yours you'll regret it for many years to come. The increase in your insurance alone for the next few years (which you'll probably have to get from a new company after cancellation) will FAR outweigh whatever you have to pay an attorney...and having that attorney will give you piece of mind when going into court because that's always a nerve wracking experience.

I'll try not to lecture you too much here since I've been cited for more over than you were. But never forget that one tiny mistake at that kinda speed and you're not very likely to live to tell the tale. If you're gonna play like that...you might wind up paying with something much more precious than dollars.

In Michigan the courts offer a plea deal of "Impeding traffic" to most first time offenders. At your speed they may not go for it if it was here in Michigan.

Impeding traffic is in the family of parking tickets and not considered a moving violation. In Michigan moving violation ticket revenue is shared between the municipality and the State. Whereas a parking ticket fines stay completely with the municipality.

Good luck. If you were cool with the cop you have a chance on some sort of reduced violation.

Yeah on 595 west bound. I got off on the university exit and gunned it and got pulled over. I think everyone thinks I was doing 89 on a city street or something. But since you live here you know sr84 at that part is literally like a highway but I didn't know it had a 45 mph speed limit. But since you've been on the street you would know I wasn't speeding recklessly on some 1 lane winding highway.
