Things like this really make you think about life (and death).

Milk, that's a path we're all gonna take, but, if I have no respect for a man while he's alive, don't expect me to mourn his death...

how crazy is this? I honestly must have watched the news for about an hour trying to figure out if he was in a coma or if he actually passed away. CNN and MSNBC weren't confirming anything but LA Times and TMZ confirmed it right away. I can't believe how sudden it was. Not only 1 but 2 stars died today. Farrah Fawcett also passed away today in case anyone saw that.

I say a prayer for the soilder and their family every time I hear that we lost another son, daughter, father, uncle etc. to the wars. I don't argue that they are more important to Americans than the stars that are being worshipped. However I do feel that the reason is because people have attachments (good or bad ) to stars. The majority of the free people in this country know not a person that serves in the military. I however know many that served and are serving. I know the true price of freedom. I have not lost any in the current wars but did lose a good friend that served in Vietnam a few years back. The one thing that set in my mind is that he had spoken to our other co-workers that if he had to fight in a war again he would have wanted me there to be in the battle next to him. That was the ultimate show of the respect he had for me and that I still have for him.

Upon birth, death is guaranteed...
He was a son, a father, brother,,, and friend... to many out there.
To his fans, I am sure he inspired and offered a calm through his music.
There is nothing wrong for someone to mourn the death of a celebrity... many of us here shed a tear when the great number 3 hit the wall, and lost his life... he was but a race car driver.
By paying respect to a pop icon, or anyone else, does not minimize the value of life that is being lost at wars around the world, or with senseless killings in our own back yard...
If you liked him or not is not important, but show respect to those that feel the pain of his loss...
may GOD rest the soul of those that have parished...

I understand that, but people don't know my position, and then attack me when I try to keep the thread respectful.

R.I.P. to both entertainers.

I always thought MJ would be around for my children to grow up listening to a musical genius...
