Some feel the need to come in and correct misinformation, as it is put, sometimes, and oftentimes make little subtle digs and jabs; try to take away from achievements Team CAMARO has made and deminish the love that some have for this nameplate. I've read we're considered draconian in the CAMARO Community, but feel this is a tight ship, and the most friendly overall. It's fine to share opinions and thoughts and comment on what you like, but this is STILL a CAMARO Community and is run by CAMARO enthusiasts. Don't think for a minute I'll allow someone with the intent on deminishing the integrity of enthusiasm of this Community. It's all relative. If someone who doesn't share enthusiasm for CAMARO comes to this Community - fine; but I ask why be here unless your intent is to cause trouble or strife? I don't think someone has to share my fanatasism, but you don't go to France and get pissed-off that their culture, food, and language is not the same as yours. When in Rome...
My digs and jabs usually are not subtle, I understand that some of my post are direct assaults because direct assaults are what keeps this Pony Car War going. On the other hand, after the dig I usually try to find a fix for what I was digging at like the ZL1 transmission issue that I am still working on. Sometimes that can be misinterpreted as verbal poundings by a Mustang fanatic and sometimes they are just that. I admit that I use Camaro5 for more that just information, its also a drawing board for me. I have said before that the Mustang community is way to vast to get my points across, the best way to reach the Mustang community as a whole is to post on a well known Camaro forum (my viral SVT Cobra campaign).

I say, if there are jabs thrown, at least compose those jabs as respectful as possible... that can actually spawn a very lengthy debate and alot can be learned. Sometimes things can get alittle heated because we are people (guilty), but if the dig contains some good information or the jab is followed by a workable theory... then that is helpful. I read about 10 post on here a day that contains some information that I need to research and get educated on.

Thats all I have... Still, does anyone have the specs on the ZR1's TR6060 MH3, I need a full spec sheet.

I don't think either car will "suck". Like I said you guys should be ecstatic you're getting a forced induction car from GM. That's awesome in and of itself. I'd hoped they'd use the forged motor but alas it is what it is.

Dodge.....well it's like they're allergic to FI. They won't even release their code so that those of us who want to mod the cars and tune them. Our tuners have to crack it.

And now with the new 392s they've added a new computer and one of the features the engineers brag about is how hard they are to crack.

Pisses me off really.

I respect Dodge for staying the Naturally Aspirated route. I am sure that changes in the near future though.

I'm sure thats annoying for any Mopar fan looking to go FI. However I have alot of respect for the new SRT-8 Challengers and really like the 392, all-motor and all. I think it represents Mopar camp well. Plus, with any luck, Mopar will release I/H/E for it and maybe a Stage 1 ecu for it. I always will love domestics that make their power NA...

...and thats about as off-topic as I'll get

I did some research into the... uggg... Automatic option. Even though I am not a huge fan of auto's, GM's Hydramatic 6L90 is badass. It is the same auto used in the CTS-V and actually puts down faster times than the CTS-V's 6M. The 6L90 has a maximum torque rating of 531tq but here's the thing, the transmission was certified at 15,000lbs. Its pretty safe to say the ZL1 will not weigh 15,000lbs so, just as Cadillac did, they can use the transmission and exceed the torque rating because there will be far less resistance put on the mainshaft and tailhousing. A transmission would have an unlimited torque rating if the rear wheels were lifted off the ground, allowed to spin resistance free and rated that way, but the rating is figured from force (from the engine) and resistance (from weight and traction). The 6L90's standard rating far exceeds any kind of resistance the ZL1 could ever provide. Therefore, It is very possible that the ZL1, matched with a 6L90 could produce the amount of torque (600-700) necessary to compete, numbers vs. numbers.

I can honestly say I DO NOT like standard autos but, look at the gear ratio's the 6L90 has:
Maximum engine power: 452 bhp ( 337 kW ), Diesel: 300bhp ( 223kW )
Maximum engine torque: 531 lb-ft ( 720 Nm ), Diesel: 520 lb-ft ( 705 Nm )
Maximum gearbox torque: 885 lb-ft ( 1200 Nm )
Gear ratios: MYD
First: 4.03
Second: 2.36
Third: 1.53
Fourth: 1.15
Fifth: 0.85
Sixth: 0.67
Reverse: -3.06
Maximum shift speed 6000 rpm
Maximum Validated Weights: ( Target ) GVW: 15000 lb ( 6803 kg ), GCVW: 21000 lb ( 9525 kg )

This makes the TR6060 MG9 ratio's look weak. They might not be able to use a 3.73 final gear ratio, but if they did... The ZL1 would make good use of those 305's.

There is a con to the 6L90 though, it weighs 240lbs which is 89lbs heavier then a Dual Clutch TR6060 MG9..

FANBOY

1. A person who is completely loyal to a game or company regardless of if they suck or not.

2. A pathetic insult often used by fanboys themselves to try and put down people who don't like whatever it is they like.

3. An arrogant person who goes into an outburst every time something he
likes is questioned. Fanboys usually accuse others of being fanboys.

4. Technocratic zealots; evangelicals of geekery. Characterized by irrational advocacy of a particular OS, console, company, or franchise.

5. A person who has an undying urge to sway everyone that is not a believer of the belief system they have towards a game or system or every piece of hardware. If they do not succeed, they will not sway from their statement in front of anyone who knows their stance.

Nice!! I respect those that go for an all motor build, but I love the feeling and sound when you get into the boost.

makes sense now. well, with regard to cars, I can't imagine being one so loyal to a car that one can't give due respect to other cars. After all, they are just material things and if one wants to have the baddest car, well, spend the money and make it so but even then, there is always someone with a better/badder car. I love Camaros and never owned a Mustang...I don't hate them at all, in fact, I wouldn't mind having one, especially a GT500.
