It wouldnt be a traditional Mid-Engine in the way an R8 or Cayman are.... And from the sound of it, it doesnt sound like their moving the engine anywhere.

DCT's, the Viper doesn't have one. Also, none of those other automakers use OHV engines either, but the Viper and Corvette still have them.

true, forgot about the Viper. Guess when I think 'sports car' Viper doesnt pop into my head... I have to think ''street legal race cars'' for that to happen . Anyways DCT has proven its benefits over and over, so I dont think arguing for its value is worth the time.... plus im not sure if I understand your stance on the situation

Turbos, while the GTR does have a turbo it doesn't get great mileage (16/21). By comparison, the Z06 gets 15/24. Turbos only help fuel economy when they are set up for lower boost levels. 10+ psi will not help matters much, and thats whats needed to get a V6 up past 450 hp.
Yea after i posted that I regretted not being clearer. A turbo V6 would accomplish (potentially) 2 things.

1. It could grant better fuel economy. I know the mpg of the GTR is worse than the Z06, but it is possible to make a TTV6 with better mpg than a matching V8. Case in point? M3 vs. tuned 335i. Both make just over 400hp, but the 335i will pull in 2-4mpg better.

BTW when the 911 Turbo was released it was EPA rated at 18/25... that engine makes 500hp, AND was designed at least 2 years ago... so its about time the tech curve caught up.

2. The second is more important. The Public is ignorant, and that will give GM the chance to advertise their "V6 with V8 power", and while we all know it will likely have very comparable mpg, the public will eat this up.
