You guys are idiots, with a couple bolt ons and 18in stock tires, my 06 mustang gt can run 13.40 and lower, I'm assuming the driver sucked or the actual time meant to say 12, not 13

and i doubt ill be seeing any 520hp camaros in the next couple months, but im betting quite a few 304 and 426hp ones. im sitting about 500lbs lighter and 400-500hp depending on my tune, so i think ill be ok lol. (454rwhp/515rwtq is my highest tune, which is 500+ at the flywheel) so even if i did run into a 520hp camaro, i think i can handle my own lol |

doesnt take too much, 12-14psi and some good gas.
of course the boost pressure has to be from this and not a s/c ![]() ![]() as far as being a drivers race with a 520hp (flywheel hp) camaro, i really dont think so. on my race tune im conservatively at 490hp/570tq (that with less than a 10% drivetrain loss, so more like 515/590) and i tip the scales at 3300. now if we are talking a 520rwhp camaro, ya thatd be a diff story lol. with that being said, id rather have an SS. itd be nice not worrying about turning your transmission into mulch everytime you hit the gas like so

Not a bad job on that V6.
I test drove a STOCK V6 mustang and it felt like I was going to turn the transmission into mulch every time I hit the gas. My ex (who we were thinking about buying it for) even thought it was horrible, and she didn't actually drive it. Personally, I'm shooting for somewhere between 350 and 375 whp with my 1LS camaro. 375 ideally, but I'll probably land somewhere closer to 350 until the warranty expires. - Xanthos

A 400 bhp Mustang GT running 13.4 @ 108 mph is just plain slow. There is nothing more to it than that.
My Mustang is completely N/A and dynoed 308 rwhp which is about 350-355bhp, and I've already done a quicker run of 13.011 @ 105 mph (even better if corrected to sea level but the timeslip shows 13.011) off of a 1.8X 60ft time. The point is if I can do that on my "weak" 350bhp, I could definitely crack 12s with another 50bhp on tap. End of story. |

i hate corrected to sea level runs. according to that my 12.03 @ 118.5 run where i snapped the trans would have been something like an 11.5 @ 122, which i know it wouldnt have done breaking the input shaft

True, but I know you are well aware of the effect of density altitude, even if the equations that correct to sea level are only approximations at best. Personally I'm just upset I am 0.01 seconds from a 12 second N/A timeslip.
Either way I still turned a full 4/10ths faster in the 1/4 mile with a non-blown version of the same car with at least a 50bhp deficit, and I'm no John Force at the track either. |
