I know how could someone say a Ti-VCT 5.0L V8 with a 7k redline is maxed out at 412hp is beyond me.

I would love to call out all thoes nay sayers.

I'd bet it would run mid 11's with a better gear, and that would be great telling people at the track what have I done motor wise and all you say is "HEADERS" LOL

Quick data - 2011 Mustang GT auto, 3.15 gear, stock airbox/filter, and the mods below. The car really needs a shorter tire or a gear.

Filled with 93 Octane, but did not update the tune as our tuner was out of the office today.

Installed the following modifications:

Stainless Works 1 7/8" Longtube Headers
Stainless Works Catted Mid-Pipe
Stainless Works 3" Catback
Cobra Jet 15 x 4 Front Wheels
Goodyear 15” Front Runners
Cobra Jet 15 x 10 Rear Wheels
BFG 325/50/15 Drag Radials (5 years old, did not hook well)

Headed to Milan Dragway at 4:00pm

Arrived at Milan at 5:15pm, 285 miles on odometer. In 4 hours, 10 quarter mile passes were made

Several 12.2X, 12.1X passes were made. The best pass of the night was 12.07 @ 116.25 mph

Car # 258

Awesome...Wish I could run those times with the same mods. Just goes to show the stang is faster The added weight of my loaded auto probably does not help.

I will man up and admit when I am wrong and I too was 1 of those people. What really made me think it was (tapped out) is some engineers looked at the motor and posted that it was near its limits.

Add to that the fact that the dash feels like Chineese plastic and that the air vents bow when maneuvered and you've got a real lack luster interior. The 6 speed shift knob is completely un-ergonomic as well as it's too big and too short. The only thing they got right on the interior were the 4 pack gauges offered as an option. I honestly believe Chevy focused on the power plant and threw the cheapest interior they could into the 2010 Camaro as they weren't sure how it would sell. It's no surprise it's slated for major upgrades in 2012.

People complain about the Challenger interior being like the Charger, but since I'd never owned a Dodge anything, the Challenger interior was right up my alley. It's functional, looks good and won't be out dated in 2 years like the current Camaro will.

The Mustang has the nicest interior of all three though. The dash pad is supple, the leather in the seats is nice and plush, the gauges are VERY retro with a hint of modernism, and when you get the upgrade the aluminum shifter is nice. You get loads of gauge colors and illuminated rocker panels. Ford really stepped up their game with the 2011 Mustang. The only thing I didn't like about the 2010 that I test drove was the pitiful power output of the motor. Ford has since remedied that and has a real winner on their hands.

If it can handle a supercharger I might have one of those to go along with my 550RWHP 627RWTQ Challenger R/T.

i think the engineers went further than they were supposed to on the street version. i cant believe ford managment authorized a 380-390rwhp, when broken in, GT. they took advantage of free reign. aside from bore centers, its clean sheet in 20 months.

I have to say that I like the options for the fiber optic colors and locations of all the light accents. The wife thinks the Mustangs seats are a tad more comfortable, I do not. I can't honestly say I saw a difference in the 2011 and the 2010.

I'm not a fan of the huge plastic engine cover on the 5.0. I think the Camaro's has a nicer looking engine compartment. The additional 1.2L's don't hurt either.

Plus, the lines on the Camaro are more appealing to me as well. The rear of the Mustang is just God Awful. It's like they have run out of original ideas and desided to just stretch the back out and call it a day. (Yes, I realize that there are other changes, again the 2011 looks just like the 2010)

Alas the Mustang was written off.
Like many of you i hate the new mustang rear end its brutal. But i got to hand it to the guys at the mustang forums they did some mods to make it work. Here is a picture of the 2010 with rear end changes. Most of it is from a GT500 rear end. I like it.

Not a thing wrong with that. We consumers are on the winning end.

From that angle, it doesn't look bad. It's the rest of them that look like

All that extra ass and still no proper access to the trunk.
