Check out username lostnight on here. 2011 v6 Mustang, auto with 3.31 gears. He's done no better then 14.5. So, I wouldn't so far as to say that the v6 can't compete with the new Mustang, not until we see more of them in the hands of everyday drivers.

Btw, as wbt and I have discussed in another part of the forum, I know lostnight didn't have the best weather. So his times, both due to weather and time in the car, will probably go down. But as of right now, it's not a 13 second car, as the mags will lead you to believe they all are. It's still a quick pony, and will make the strip all that much more fun!!

A lot of the guys I work with are stang guys and 3 of them have 5.0's and of course all 3 of them are on S197.

Very nice cars I may add and Strong to top it off im a Chevy guy so I dont really care for Ford. Its funny they are guys who go to the track with there cars and post up in a special section ( kill section ) as they speak of over on there S197 site.


Funny thing my Camaro just recently got converted over from a L99 to a LS3 they are a stick and im a Automatic.

Lastnight going home after I left the city limits I was cruising about 55mph I decided to give her a little punch since the weather had cooled down to low 80's lets just say my FAT A$$ 432hp Automatic did very well against the manual 5.0.

Who said an automatic can't hang with a manual ? lol

The 5.0 is a strong car so im not a Camaro guy who is going to say its crap however I think its funny when I asked today if they posted about it on there kill section I got silence and a grumble



My Fat over weight PIG as they call it did better than they thought it would

As I told them if yall want to handle this the right/correct way better yet the legal way lets do it the way it should be done " from a dead Stop " I would like to let her speak up louder however it needs to be on a near by track.


The answer I got ........ Silence....... BRING IT ON


I think a local Track in Denton will be calling my name in the near future

I would venture to say that if you go to Ennis (Texas Motorplex) on test and tune night you would find plenty of new Mustangs to run against.

BTW - would you consider you car "stock"? Did the Mustang have any mods?

I agree, we haven't seen many run yet, and the cars aren't broken in, and weather is crap. But the numbers don't lie. It's simple physics, pounds per horsepower.

But it will make the strip more fun.

another thing to add is i have taken off roughly 70lb of rotational mass/ unsprung weight from my car so i would reckon it is much quicker than a regular old CAI/Tune 2010 GT

Trust me im not a huge Track person however I will go a few times to see what she can do. I know there will always be someone who beats you lol
I was just shocked out of the 3 times how well I did.

Alexs 5.0 has Stainless works 1 7/8 longtubes that mate to the factory connection pipes going back into some Flowmaster mufflers.
He also has a roush cold air intake Supposively this is the same intake that the Red 5.0L beat the Yellow Camaro in the video we all have seen. He bought the car with not the smallest gears out of the three they offer but the midsized ones I remember he said ( wishes he had the 3.73 ) And he had the car tuned somewhere down in houston

I just over hear him talking daily lol . Its a nice car and the Kona Blue as he calls it looks good on the car.


Me I have 1 7/8 ARH longtubes Xpipe and Borla stingers.
ADM Race Cold air intake , ADM Stage 2cam , ADM Tune oh and im now a LS3 I had it converted recently. Stock Torque converter and Stock gears.

Only thing I can think of is like i said i was cruising at 55 when my Camaro hits 60 she climbs VERY HARD and im not kidding something Adm has in there tune makes this car climb hard.




Yes I have a Cam to where he doesnt however with me being a auto and heavier you telling me it makes that much of a difference

who knows.

Only point I was saying is Alex is someone who brags when he does something good but when he loses he hushes.

its all good.



I guess the cam made the difference here for him being underweight and me being automatic to his manual.

I recommend Kona blue to anyone who wants a stang nice looking color.

I love it. I am very happy with the change. Dealer put 87 in it and I will say it is faster than my SS was with a cat back and CAI.

Did the '11 you drive have a 3.31?

I agree on the blower. I recommend the KB.
