ok, so i'm thinking about picking up this game when i get my computer. would you guys recommend it if you've never played the first one? is it easy to pick up and play right off the bat? What's the object of the game? I watched the video jcamaro posted, and it looks confusing as hell. lol

Single player well they basically tell you the story of sc1 when you are installing the game, so if you don't care for lore you won't be missing much. As for multiplayer you don't have to play the first one. Its just your standard RTS. Get minerals and gas and build up units and upgrade them then attack.
