No. Multiplication & division are interchangeable, just like addition and subtraction. PEMDAS could just as easily be PEDMAS or PEDMSA or PEMSA.
For example: 4x3/2 = 6 Four times three is twelve, divided by two is six. Three divided by two is one and a half, times four is six. Remember, division is identical to multiplaction by a fraction. Just as subtraction is identical to the addition of a negative number. Order doesn't matter when multiplying, so how can it matter when multiplying by a fraction?
