As a re-flashed G8, the SS looks pretty good. It is a good placeholder until Holden gets serious with a re-design. I like the details but it still looks like the '08 G8 in overall form. I am not thrilled with the c-pillar design and the grille looks busy.

Its a good start for the chevy sedan.

I was really anticipating this car, and now I have come away very underwhelmed.

You can especially see in the picture of the SS, ZL-1 and Stingray together how much the Chevy design language has evolved, and how old it makes the SS look.

Looks more like a fleet 2012 Impala than a sports car. I am a super supporter of Chevy, but this SS looks like a really half assed attempt

#'s and Letters are what you assign something before you have a finished product. And I think it further detaches us from that incredible relationship we have with our automobiles.

I like my Camaro, I like that my car was given a name that has a history and is truly part of the car itself. SS is a trim level, and always should be.

I almost regret getting my License Plate now [20TEN SS]. I can hear it now...

"That's not the SS!"

I don't think you'll have to worry about your license plate. More likely that initial Chevy SS owners will be bombarded with questions like "an SS what?" "No, that's the name, SS."

True.

And, I do know that Henry Ford started off with Letters and Numbers... but I think names are just more personal.

Looking at the picture with it lined up with the Corvette and ZL1 I'm not really sure if people will notice that it's anything different. The front, from that angle, looks rather bland like other current Chevy sedans.

Although I think some of the press photos look great from that same angle, so I'm still up in the air as to what to think. Hopefully further pictures and details will help me decide.

I agree about the names. I really didn't think it was going to make it to production with just the SS nameplate.

Maybe to try and get back that "you can drive what they drive connection."

As for the "SS" itself... I think they did a good job. Not a fan of Chevy's new grill styles, but maybe that will evolve to something I like better in the near future.

The rest of the car looks solid from the pics. Can't wait to pull up next to one.

Edit: One thing I noticed on the bumper is that they are accentuating the sensors with indentations; I think that is bad. I hate the look of the bumper sensors to begin with, they should hide them... not make them stand out.

i mad ae a bad connection lol looking at pics on swcond thought, the sonic is too exaggerated, but I think you know what i meant since you mentioned the cruze/malibu design, etc

this is more along the lines of what i had in mind...I feel like with that grille design on the "SS" front end, it would look much more aggressive looking... honestly if you look at the "SS" pics, it has a grille similar to that down low, with an extra one on top... i think its too busy, and takes away from any aggressive look being that it has a "smile" type shape

Seems like the Dodge Charger R/T Max though is the better buy

They gave the HEMI the 8-speed transmission which makes up for the 45 HP and 20 TQ deficit, AWD, nicer amenities.. all for under 40K and the ECU has been crack so its not hard to make them faster..

And the SRT8 the SS is nice, but too old.. too late

SS- "Super Sleeper" sounds appropriate

I'm sorry but it looks like sh*t. They took the sweet lines of the G8 and made it look like something out of Japan.

Interior however is freaking awesome
