Beautiful car. If they keep it at the same price point as the outgoing model it will be exceptional value.

It won't be, they are moving it upscale to compete with the Avalon instead of the Camery.

It's always gone against Avalon i believe. Makes sense because the Malibu goes against Camry and Cruze against Corolla right?

The first artical I read about the new impala stated that Chevy wanted to move it upscale to compete with the Avalon. I remember ads where the compared the impala back years ago comparing it to the Camery and accord, but that was before the last redesign of the Malibu,

LaCrosse has one long, continuous, flowing character line known as the sweepspear, a signature Buick design cue.

Impala has two character lines, both deeply cut into the side panels, with the rear one sharply sloping downwards to create a visual connection with the chrome door trim.

Overall, Impala is a much more sculpted design, while LaCrosse has a more fluidic, smooth design.

LaCrosse is on LWB Epsilon II. Impala is on an even bigger Epsilon II platform that also underpins the Cadillac XTS.

LaCrosse is built at Fairfax Assembly in Kansas. Impala is built at Oshawa Assembly and Detroit Hamtramck Assembly.

Care to try that again?
when you see the pictures like that side-by-side, they would look very similar to the untrained eye.

I'd consider one for an every day driver. It's a considerable upgrade from recent years. Would love to see an SS package, but I believe they're not planning on making one.

More steering wheel complaints, lol. At least we didn't get this one in the Camaro, I agree.

Even if they maybe borrowed a few styling cues from other brands and also their own cars, (Call me crazy but I see some Camaro in there) at least this thing has a chance at being bought by actual people instead of rental fleets like the godawful previous generation.

Not rear wheel drive, and an SS designation for the new Impala is extremely unlikely with the upcoming "Chevy SS Sedan" which will be RWD.
