Thank GOD American manufacturers are finally paying attention to interiors.... Now they're starting to leave others in the dust. Grant it, I hate shiny black plastic, but everything else looks nice for what I am sure will be a low cost car.

This car will be nice, only there is one problem. Its a small car...........not for me.

I'll be getting a used, new generation Durango, Explorer or maybe Acadia in a few years.

Or maybe a new one if I can find a killer deal

I know I will have wayyyyy too many people eat me a live for this, but if an econocar can have a leather (or hell even pleather) stitched dash, why the hell can we not get the same thing on the Camaro? I know we have a new insert for 2012 - but the stitching on the brim of the dash seems to just up the class.

Probably because you'd be looking at a car in the upper 20's to get that particular interior. So instead of spending their money on that kind of stuff in the Camaro, GM spent it on performance.

Yet Ford and to be honest Dodge can balance all 3? A fast, good looking car, with awesome an interior? That would assume that Chevy spent it all on looks and performance with no real focus on the interior for the production car.

Actually yeah I can see that....

I don't see an awesome interior in either the Mustang or Challenger. And I don't see much performance in the Dart, so I'm not really sure what you're getting at.

The Camaros interior is incomplete compared to the other two. There is only a single interior feature that the Camaro has that is better than either competitor and that is the HUD. Otherwise the interior is overly simplistic and largely boring there are only so many times you can look at the plastic dash before you want to gouge your eyes out.

I like what I've seen so far. I just hope that Dodge has a performance version to live up to the nameplate.

You mean you hope they have a version that cost more than the competition's but still doesn't perform as well. I'm sure they'll live up to that.

Nothing can top the Toyotafied Nova as a failed revival of segment nameplate.

I guess I just don't get it then. When I'm driving a car, I tend to look out the windshield, not stare at the dashboard. I notice how the suspension feels, and what the engine sounds like, and the wind/road noise. But the dash? Its just sorta ... there. I see it, but I don't pay any attention to it. As long as the shapes look pleasant enough, and the radio/HVAC controls are easy to use I'm fine with the dash.

But most importantly, with regard to the nice soft leather covered dash shown for the Dart that initiated the comment, I have never found myself feeling up the dash of my car. It simply hasn't happened, not once. Closest I come is wiping off the dash when I'm cleaning the car but I wouldn't put that in the same category. I barely touch the soft inserts in the door of my Grand Am. If my left arm is resting on the door, its up by the window not down by the door handle. However, I do appreciate the leather wrapped steering wheel. Feels much better than a typical plastic job.

I agree with DGthe3. I prefer a non distracting dash. The one in the camaro is perfect, for me at least.
