I see the sig 220, 9mm for around 400 bucs. I believe its the 220. Anyway, i have a springfield that is a great gun. Accurate, ergonomic and easy to disassemble and clean. Still, to have a sig would be sweet!

Fixed barrel, 7+1 of .380, SA+DA, de-cocker, trigger pull of a fullsize....if that's outdated, count me in!

Speaking of out-dated, some mild eye-candy for the Massachusetts crowd. 1943 Inland.

I own this 100% legally here. Yes, repro stock. It is not an 'authenticated' M1A1, but it is quite close in s/n to the famous and verifiable-with-provenance M1A1 that was brought home by LT. Colonel Batte (which sold for over 20K in 2008) and so naturally it is also in the correct 'block' of M1A1 production. We will probably never ever know which ones were "real" based on production records, and many that were originally M1A1s were put in standard stocks after arsenal rebuild after WWII. Odds are fairly good that mine was an M1A1 originally. But for the foreseeable future, it will be just a 'correct for M1A1 s/n range' M1 carbine in an M1A1 stock, which means basically nothing.

This carbine was sold to me as an M1A1 in MA with the papers to back it up as legal here. As you may or may not know, this little thing is super-evil to the Commonwealth. When I take it to the range, I put it in an M2 stock, or I take my papers with me. Honestly, the M1A1 stock sucks to shoot with. With my M2 stock this thing is quite accurate.

It was about 200 bucks more than a similarly nice M1 carbine when I bought it in 2010. I couldn't own this or any M1 carbine when I lived in Boston proper. Well, I could own it but I couldn't store it there. Bizarre. And it turns out that I knew the previous owner before I bought it!

It is my opinion that the M1 carbine is just about the perfect little rifle.

Ok folks, I'm looking for a nice 5.56mm rifle that's under $1000. I know there are oogles of AR type rifles out there that can be had for cheap. I'm looking to go with something else. I was looking at a Century Arms Golani Sporter. Not the prettiest gun but still reliable since it's based off of the AK platform. Any other suggestions?

Could go crazy and get a AR15 pistol, or pay the 'stupid' tax and throw on a buttstock for an AR15SBR, they're actually pretty cool looking, but pistol versions can be picky about gas pressures causing eject problems...

On another note, the Beretta M9A3 should be showing up in quantity soon. That's one purdy pistol
