That's a sic looking pistol. Not sure how practical that short barrel would be though. Bet it would be a blast to shoot and they are not that pricey. I'll have to find a seller in Phoenix.

That's a Short Barreled Rifle..... have to have a tax stamp to own it. Silly law if you ask me.

We shoot pistols at 200 yds all the time, you'd be surprised how accurate that little scooter would be.

Probably no issue with punching paper. But the 5.56 relies on higher velocities to help with yawing (velocity has a tendency to be lower in shorter barrels), assuming FMJ. The yawing allows the 5.56 to be more effective in terms of terminal ballistics for both 4 legged and 2 legged critters. However, if it (and the operator) is accurate enough to hit moving targets in the earhole, then I guess terminal ballistics don't mean much.

I suppose it comes down to purpose/intended use and preference. I think it looks cool though.

Steel plate armor highly recommended @ 200 yds

Hmp, maybe I'll just stick to the regular 16 in barrels since I have no clue what a "tax stamp" is. I'm certain that thing is totally 360 and 7.62x54 cal. I have been wrong before. Hot Rod SS!! hOLY CRAP! Kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tax stamp is in reference to the National Firearms Act. Look it up. Not sure what state you in, but in Texas, as long as you apply/acquire a tax stamp, suppressors, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, full/selective fire arms are legal!

Im in Arizona. Eh, sounds like too much trouble. I'll just be a regular guy and stick to the norm. The government already takes enough of my money, I'm not giving them more. Thanks for the info.

Yeah its a pain but maybe (doubtful with this administration) they pass this

Hearing Protection Act of 2015
This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to: (1) eliminate the $200 transfer tax on firearm silencers, and (2) treat any person who acquires or possesses a firearm silencer as meeting any registration or licensing requirements of the National Firearms Act with respect to such silencer. Any person who pays a tax on a silencer after October 22, 2015 may receive a refund of such tax.

Anyone here have a VZ58? Might be a long shot but I saw one in a YouTube vid and it looks fantastic.

My wife and I went to visit her parents this past weekend. We met up with a friend of mine on Sunday and went to the range with a bunch of his firearms. I haven't fired a gun in 15 years, and my wife had never done so. I got to fire the following:
AR-15
AK-74
AK-47
Mosin-Nagant (1931 I believe)
Lee Enfield No.1 MkIII
Some kind of M1911 .45 cal
Springfield Arms XD(M)
1942 Walther P38

I liked the Walther the best of the pistols, and the AK-74 best of the rifles, though the Lee Enfield was very cool (and heavy).

My wife fired a .22 rifle (looked exactly like the AR), and the AK-74 and both pistols besides the P38. In the car on the way home from the airport yesterday, out of the blue she said, "I'm now pretty enthusiastic about learning how to shoot properly."

I thought, "Cool!"
