I plan on keeping the engine cover. And after I paint it to match the rest of the car theme, it will add plenty of "sex" appeal.

I used IOM paint that I got from here:

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint

It matches perfectly, the lighting in my appartment isn't the greatest so the pic does not do it justice.

Is this just OEM paint? You're not worried about the heat? Or did you put a protective coat over it?

The blue part of mine (the plenum) is automotive paint, but I'm also running an Ice-olator so my intake stays fairly cool, and I'm sure the plenum stays even cooler than the intake itself.

Been running it for a while..no issues

I think if you have both and forged parts and Cam boost and power should be higher if the fuel delivery is fixed and the tune

Yea its OEM paint. Like KM said I also have the spacer and it rarely got hot. I did however hit it with 2 coats of engine primer paint which is rated to I believe 500*?

Haha thanks, If you get the chance I would def do it. Hopefully in a couple weeks I will be able to reinstall it along with my painted valve covers and see how it all looks.

My only thing is that my car is a daily driver so I can't really have down time on it. Maybe sometime while school is out I'll do it. During summer, I wouldn't mind the car sitting a few days. How hard is it to do? Is it the same as any other thing? Where you can just sand, prime, and paint? Or are special things involved? Anyone think that if I paint it black it will cause more heat to be retained?

I wouldn't want to do it again but considering I have a buddy who helps, that helps a lot. It wasn't that bad last time. The hardest part was aligning the spacer and IM. But now that I know the trick to it, it shouldn't be bad at all. We will see lol. Maybe if I'm bored and have no money to buy anything... Like a free mod kinda deal

Yea I hear ya. I didn't really sand mine (maybe I should have) but i first cleaned it with some soap and water and then again with some nail polish remover. I waited about 10 min. inbetween each coat. I did 2 coats primer, 3 coats the IOM and then 2 coats clear. The longest time would be letting it sit and dry after the final coat of clear is installed.

But since nobody has answered my thread in the brakes section...would y'all know if Zo6 brakes would work on our six's? My dads upgrading to a better brake kit, and I'll definitely take his stock brakes and rotors off his hands if they fit

I already know I need ss rear dust shields, ss brake lines (braided.) I think the offsets and brackets are different for our cars
