Possibly because they wanted to get their car out and not just swing their b@lls? I respect that they just brought GT500s to keep the focus on the car the day was setup for.

Then why bring in the pro driver, and why do it at a drag strip. C'mon there no ring times, they did not race a ZL1/Z06, and its all because Ford is so humble and modest

11.8 is not 2 tenths faster than a 12.5

And sorry to disappoint but I am not in the "svt fourm gang"

Cool lets "correct" GT500 times to. Yep so far a hot lap'd (for 2 hours straight) 11.8 at 123. Another fun fact for you, Fords main intent was not to bit*h slap the ZL1. That's a bi-product. The BOSS and GT500 were to close in performance.

I hope for everyone's sake here the GT500 is not faster around a track

Well I don't see Ford releasing letters to future owners of the GT500 reassuring them the there car is the better car and "everything will be ok" Looks like they just started walking the walk

The Shelby is fast super fast, and it hooks up a lot better than the previous GT500s. They were even spinning the tires in 3rd gear, but its not the monster I thought it would be. Its faster than the ZL1, but not by much. I was drinking the HP Kool Aid and thought Evans would nail a 11.5 pass or even dare I say 10.XX. Not to say later on, its not possible to hit the 11.5 but I think that will be tops. The hero run for the Shelby 11.5 the hero run for the ZL1 11.7 or 11.8 my guess.

I have a very stinking suspicion that the GT500 will be faster around most tracks, except for VIR. There's just something fishy about the ZL1 run there.

If Ford were to release the '13 GT500 Nurburgring times, all hell would break loose.

Ford has been at the Ring several times NEVER a time I mean they are loosing the sales war with Chevy they would not want any good media to help drive and steal sales from the ZL1, this all makes perfect sense.

Nissan released their Ring time (and the fact that it beat the 911 Turbo) a year ahead of its release .. stupid, show off Nissan. I wish GM and Nissan would take the high road like Ford

Lol, Ford guys. ZL1 times are "fishy", unreleased Ford times are presumed to be better, and gospel.

Like I said before, the ring is a marketing tool that is meaningless to use as fact.

It's what is happening in the real word that makes the difference. I'm 100% sure though that a ZL1 will do just as well as a GT500 at going in town to get milk or out to dinner on a Friday night.
