RYSE was supposed to be a Kinect Exclusive, and they couldn't figure out how to make it work, so they converted it to a very pretty God of War clone.

Here's the thing with Kinect, the technology relies too much on a perfect environment. Microsoft refuses to do the one thing that would make it better, and that's integrate some motion control or tracking specific device. If they did this, the Kinect could rely less on a clutter free living rooms with a specific square in front of the TV use for gaming. Yes it does voice control (not that voice control is a reason you should opt for a CAMERA), but even the people who are positive about it say it's not natural enough. For instance, you have to say "XBox, Go to Ryse Son of Rome." You can't just say "XBox, Play Ryse."

Microsoft has included a camera that: 1. will never work as advertised; 2. most people don't want; 3. sets aside valuable system resources; 4. and at an additional cost which causes people to balk at the cost of entry to an XBone.
I would have to do more reading up, on how the Kinect is or is not working. Like I said, would be nice to get the OP's opinion on the Kinect, and how he likes both systems.

Ease of use. No need to fumble around the room looking for the remote control when I can just tell the Xbox what I want. My wife made fun of it at first but now she uses the voice commands as well.

As for the PS4 eye, since its pretty much useless right now, it looks like this is all PS4 users can really do with it: http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/m...mpletely-22779 .

PS4 owners aren't required to have a camera.
I always know where my controller is...No need to fumble around.
The voice control of the XBone is almost a requirement because, as I understand it, the interface is EXTREMELY cluttered.

again, how so? is it not like the demo's we've seen already? did they change? if not, it seems pretty easy to use. the interface actually looks a lot like the current 360 interface. which is extremely easy to use. my daughter who just turned 5 can turn on the xbox and tv, navigate to the apps section, go to Netflix kids, and start her favorite shows, all on her own...

Its far from cluttered. Everything is laid out just like the Windows 8 OS. If you are familiar with the Tiles structure it should take no time to get used to. And you can customize where you want to place those tiles for ease of use. Plus the system shows you exactly what you need to say in order for it to recognize your command. Ones you say "Xbox" the voice navigation turns on. Anything that you can operate via voice commands shows up in green text on the screen. All you do is speak the words shown in green and the App opens, channel changes, input changes. It took about 10 minutes to understand how the system works. Once I got past that learning curve, Ive had 0 issues navigating via voice. And the transitions are smooth and flawless. I can navigate the screens faster with voice than with the game controller. The only thing that I could consider no useful at all, is the Xbox OneGuide for the TV.

Its faster to navigate your TV guide via the TV remote unless you like consistently saying, Page Up or Page Down repeatedly to find a show you want to watch.

if you know the name of the show, or channel, can you just say "watch ncis", for example? or "watch channel 3", or "watch espn"?

You can do Watch Channel 3 and Watch ESPN. The Show name only works if you can see it on the guide.

Yes but I havent messed with it. For the TV I've just been using my cable box remote. If there is a show I know is on a certain station ill tell it to change to that station, otherwise ill just browse my cable boxes guide.

Here is the support page on setting favorites.

PMC, no point in arguing with devryn. He's a PS4 fanboy just as much as Dtrimpi is an Xbox fanboy.

LOL Because you had no argument to my retort on your inane reply to why I believe the PS4 is the better value?

So you're looking to argue? I thought we were discussing games. Honestly I didn't bother replying because I realized that you are a fanboy and anyone who disagrees with your version of the truth is wrong.

Xbox SUCKS, it's not a PS4. It's GARBAGE. it does NOTHING well.
That's the message in every single post of yours re: this topic. the words I capitalized show that you do not have an open mind, nor want to hear anything other than what your opinion is. If you were a true gamer or enthusiast, you'd say that PS4 if better, but wouldn't say that xbox sucks or is garbage. I'm done discussing this with you. You're a fanboy, which is perfectly fine. Just don't try and convert me like the religious sects around my area that come knocking on my door at 6am.
