The technology behind the Kinect back when it was called NATAL was amazing. The horridly slow monstrosity it became is garbage. Originally, the Kinect was supposed to come with its own processing core to handle it's functions. Now it offshoots everything to the hardware it connects to. It's inefficient, and if motion gaming is your thing, the Wii still does it better than the XBox. Its supposedly 100x more responsive and accurate, but have you seen what they're saying about "The Fighter Within?"

The same thing you said applies to me but for the 360 and Xbone. During the whole life span of the 360 there was only one exclusive that I would buy and that was Left for Dead 2. To me, every other exclusive for the 360 was either crap or I'm not interested in it. And right now there are zero exclusives that is going to be released within the next 6 months on the Xbone that I'm interested in.

Hey draco, do you have a link to that ea statement? The statement I read said that the FIRST Titanfall would be Xbox exclusive, but the deal they made didn't apply to sequels

They are doing the same thing they did with Mass Effect. Remember Mass Effect was originally a 360 exclusive but shortly after Mass Effect 2 came out, they brought Mass Effect 1 and 2 over to the PS3.

Never heard of "the fighter within". Still not sure how you can compare anything, without actually trying it yourself, or with enough data out there, that compares the new kinect with wii. The new kinect is supposedly light years ahead of the first kinect. Would be nice if the OP would give some input.

The Fighter Within is the ONLY exclusive Kinect game released at launch, and (shocker) it doesn't work. http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/fighter-within
RYSE was supposed to be a Kinect Exclusive, and they couldn't figure out how to make it work, so they converted it to a very pretty God of War clone.

Here's the thing with Kinect, the technology relies too much on a perfect environment. Microsoft refuses to do the one thing that would make it better, and that's integrate some motion control or tracking specific device. If they did this, the Kinect could rely less on a clutter free living rooms with a specific square in front of the TV use for gaming. Yes it does voice control (not that voice control is a reason you should opt for a CAMERA), but even the people who are positive about it say it's not natural enough. For instance, you have to say "XBox, Go to Ryse Son of Rome." You can't just say "XBox, Play Ryse."

Microsoft has included a camera that: 1. will never work as advertised; 2. most people don't want; 3. sets aside valuable system resources; 4. and at an additional cost which causes people to balk at the cost of entry to an XBone.

Why the hell would I want to do all of that anyways? I do not live on the Enterprise and do not need to "talk" to my media center, Skype is horribly insecure, and I have a laptop & desktop & iPad for getting on the Internet.

doing some quick reading, seems to not be the case. like the infrared, so that it can be used in low lighting. and I think facial recognition is questionable on the EYE. The Kinect has 1080, while the eye has 720.

also, that fact that the xbox comes with the Kinect has really helped with developers and their games.

you don't "need" to do a lot of things. it's kind of a all-in-one media center. no need to have your smartphone/ipad/laptop/computer/walkie talkie/cup and string hanging around anymore. lol
