I have to say though, if you need a handicap place card because you have seizures, then you really do not need to be driving
What was the last line of my post? It's not always the driver but it could be his passenger that is handicapped. My wife has to carry the papers for her placard so if we get questioned about it she can show that it is legal.

1. In the majority of parking areas the number of disable parking spots is insane due to government bullshit. In front of the WA state controlled liquor stores, there is 7 disabled parking spots and about 10 or less reqular parking spots. I park there all the time to insure the disable don't buy booze!!!!

2. check out who usually gets out of the cars with the disabled parking permits.......a very high percentage of big fat obeast people whose disablity or health issue is directly related to America's biggest health issue: lazy couch potato smoker and boozer. These people deserve to walk not get dropped off in front of the store.
you're a jerk. if you're referring to my post in that last line...I drop him off because I am there and we can save a handicapped spot for someone who is alone and really needs it. My father is not obese and none of his health problems are from being a lazy couch potato that drinks and smokes. He does none of that. He has neuropathy of the nerves from exposure, from working as a chaplain in ground zero recovering remains after 9/11. They were required to wear masks, guess it didn't work! I nor anyone I know is an obese couch potato, or smokes, or drinks. But I would not judge someone based on their size because I do not know their life! so yeah, you're a jerk.

My son has siezures, and he does not rate a placecard, I have not ever seen a placecard for someone having seizures, though that does not mean people cant get one.

Have you asked his doctor? I know from personal experience it depends on the type of seizure and frequency.

On the comment of fat old lazy people once again you know nothing of what their problems are and just make casual statements from a distance. Not being informed are we. I have dealt with people parking in disabled spots for years where they park and just run in for a few seconds or minutes thinking that they won't get caught or in many instances they just don't care. It never really matters unless you are the one with a problem or you have a close friend or relative that has problems. It's all about those people get something that I don't and should have. In the beginning when I was injured I would be a little bit confrontational with people about parking in spots. But I always ask people when confronted if they first know they are in a disabled spot because many do not and then they move their cars. Some don't and just wait stewing about being caught and thinking of themselves and how it is bothering them and not others. Then I tell them about the law and the financial cost it is to park there, depending upon your state. In cases where people don't have a license plate or placard and I actually see them run into a store or restaurant I have been known very rarely for letting out the air of a tire so they can't drive and have to fix their problem. Once just parking my car behind theirs and getting out an go shopping myself.
Gentleman it's called empathy where you put yourself in someone else's shoes.
I don't post stuff on this site on what I know on Superchargers or sway bars, because I don't know anything and would be coming from a point of ignorance. Or as CE once said of people "You may think I'm stupid, just don't try proving it."

I have two bad knees yet I still park far away and hoof it, while there are lots of scum bags that have the blue wheel chair tags and aren't really handicap and use them brazenly. I have a conscience and could never do this!! I wish the police would do checks on said vehicles to verify if they are really driven by handicap and tow them if they are not. Just my opinion!

See it happen all the time myself and it just irks me to death. My daughter-in-law has a handicap mirror card for her grandmothers use and she admittedly uses it when she has to return a movie stating "I'm only in there for a minute and don't see anything wrong with it". There is something wrong with it and I hope those of you who do this get caught some day.

A legal disabled space in ca requires a blue curb, painted wheel chair symbol and a sign. Without all three present, you can't get a ticket. Agree with others though, parking in a disabled spot, posted properly or not is morally wrong. The law...

22511.7. (a) In addition to Section 22511.8 for offstreet parking,
a local authority may, by ordinance or resolution, designate onstreet
parking spaces for the exclusive use of a vehicle that displays
either a special identification license plate issued pursuant to
Section 5007 or a distinguishing placard issued pursuant to Section
22511.55 or 22511.59.
(b) (1) Whenever a local authority so designates a parking space,
it shall be indicated by blue paint on the curb or edge of the paved
portion of the street adjacent to the space. In addition, the local
authority shall post immediately adjacent to and visible from the
space a sign consisting of a profile view of a wheelchair with
occupant in white on a blue background.
(2) The sign required pursuant to paragraph (1) shall clearly and
conspicuously state the following: "Minimum Fine $250." This
paragraph applies only to signs for parking spaces constructed on or
after July 1, 2008, and signs that are replaced on or after July 1,
2008.
(3) If the loading and unloading area of the pavement adjacent to
a parking stall or space designated for disabled persons or disabled
veterans is to be marked by a border and hatched lines, the border
shall be painted blue and the hatched lines shall be painted a
suitable contrasting color to the parking space. Blue or white paint
is preferred. In addition, within the border the words "No Parking"
shall be painted in white letters no less than 12 inches high. This
paragraph applies only to parking spaces constructed on or after July
1, 2008, and painting that is done on or after July 1, 2008.
(c) This section does not restrict the privilege granted to
disabled persons and disabled veterans by Section 22511.5.
