The RON results are always higher than MON. Had they used the averages between the two [like the octane number on the pump], the numbers would not have been nearly as high.

Oh, and by the way, they have a link at the end of the article where you can buy...wait for it...OCTANE BOOSTER!

Fail.
Well by all means lets use a standard not used in the U.S. to measure just to fit your requirements and substantiate your argument... Heaven forbid you get mud on your face... for a blank statement...

In a test under real world conditions, using the RON standard, there was an increase with various octane booster additives... while all of them were less than claimed, they did perform the test with 96.8 octane fuel as the baseline... If they had used lower octane fuel as the baseline, for example 87 octane fuel, the results may have been closer to the claimed increases...

Oh, and Wikipedia as a trusted resource... really... I can go in there and change anything I want, and until someone that knows the difference or thinks differently edits it, should everyone take it as gospel... There is a booster add since Wiki sells advertising space to stay afloat...

Chau... Enjoy your Camaro and if you dont believe in Octane booster, good for you... I'll continue to protect my high HP engine with available resources when needed...

You're kidding, right? A standard not used in the US? Do you not understand how pump gas octane numbers are determined?

Your quoted source is NOT from the US.

"Chau"? Really? It's "ciao". Einstein...

Said the guy who accused me of using non-US material in my argument.

This concludes today's lesson...class dismissed.

These cars come with a high octain timing map and a low octain timing map. When the engine see's a certain amount of knock it goes onto the low octain timing map. From the factory the timing is alot lower than the high octain map to protect the motor from ussing low octain gas or getting some bad gas.

I would expect than any tuner out there or handheld tuner would NOT program the low octain timing map to be the same as the high octain timing map. So I'd be pretty sure that Teds tune has this lower timing map in your tune.

I personally tested this with putting 87 octain in my car and beat the snot out of it while logging the perameters. Sure enough the knock sensors went crazy and put the timing into the lower octain table i set and everything was fine. Of course loss some decent power but protected the motor no problem.

When I filled up the car the map resetted itself to the high octain timing table.

Not sure bro, my tuner was pretty firm when telling me I needed to run 93 at all times. Check with Janetty.

I seriously doubt a Janetty tune is going to turn off the knock sensors... They will protect the motor by pulling timing until the fuel is better... Nothing to get a divorce over...

By the time you finish this tank and fill it with a full tank of 93 you'll probably be fine... Ask Ted in a PM if you need to do anything else... but you will have to deal with the same issues if you ever drive into a part of the country that has no high octane fuel... It'll be fine...

I took two cases of Amsoil Octane Boost with me to the Fest... Used a bottle at every fill up...

The more serious thing to point out to her is someone on the phone talking or texting while filling the car.... I can point out a few videos of fires starting this way...

octane is one issue. Ethanol levels being jacked at 30-40 percent is another thing alltogether!

Due to managing fuel cost, gas is being cut with ethanol at staggering levels...

In order to make fuel go farther, it's being cut with corn liquor (aka ethanol). there are ceiling limits to this level, but I've seen as much as 40 percent in GA/SC/NC area.

Not good for performance in the LS3's... Terrible for my vintage CB motorcycles with carbs as the ethanol just ravages the jets and bowls in the carb.
