I think it's 50-100 miles. I didn't check, but I remember reaching the 905 horse' max after a few races. I changed the oil and bang - there it was.

I loved that stupid race - even when it would nose-dive into the wall when braking!

Having boring last laps made me slow way down on modding. Now I like to try "as is" first and watch to see if I'm falling behind or gaining during the first couple laps. If the car is falling behind or doesn't have enough oomph to gain on the straights, I'll bail out of the race and do some minor mods. I think it was the 2nd race in Bonus 5 that I won by 4 seconds with the car completely stock. I tried it a second time (still no changes) and won by 25 seconds since I was more familiar with that car on that track. Besides, I'm cheap and figure skipping on Racing Soft tires twice leaves enough credits to buy an entire car.

Don't know how long it takes, but the tip about changing the oil before you race a car for the first time seems to be true. It gives you a little extra HP!
See - I haven't noticed whether-or-not losses are counted or even appear. I haven't really looked into it, but I know wins show - I didn't see losses though. I was thinking about doing what you said, but I was worried about my loss ratio. If it doesn't matter, I'm going to start doing what you posted, because it was boring and cost a lot of money, lol.

That's a LOT of $$$! I think I'm right at $2M - I can't stop buying SSs

I just recently learned a trick to be able to gift cars (and receive) and NOT loose the car you gave away. Bit of a cheat, but it works!

I did that Seasonal Corvette Race, and jumped 7 levels =) not to mention all that cash!! Now I up high enough to really get into all the other races, and have the $$ to buy what I need and not worry!

I dug around and the only place where I found a note about losses was under the B-Spec drivers. Your A-spec profile (and each individual car) shows wins but not losses. Even if losses were counted, I can't think of anything that it would affect. Besides, you can always bail out before the end of the race. Just by watching how far I'm behind the leader and keeping track of remaining laps I can tell if I have enough car to win. I think I've only been wrong twice and came in second place side-by-side with the winner.

Plus, depending where you are in the game, there's a good chance that Corvette will come in handy again. Did you race modify it? If not, be aware that you lose ALL your "regular" mods when you race modify.
