Oh no,a youtube Edmonds test, you got me there........... C'mon, a car giving away almost 100 more HP should roundly kick the Bullitts ass, which it doesn't,due to its fat-ass. That 5-speed and a measly 315HP will fill the mirror of that SRT8 and stay there more than you'd like to admit. The Bullitt is not faster, but the SRT8 doesn't deliver a knockout.
when was the last time you heard a german say "god i cant wait till the new mustang comes out!!"

right.
the current mustang runs mid 13's stock with a base price of $6,000 less than the base price of the camaro. If you don't think they can greatly improve performance AND luxury for 6k you are kidding yourself.

oh well. Ford will probably just pull out another terminator style, beat the **** out of the competition for the price, car and you will still say its impossible.

I noticed you say "for the price". Since I'm pretty sure that they already have a Cobra out, and it's 45k, but good luck finding one for that. Also, maybe my memory is foggy, but even the 03-04 Cobras didn't "beat the ****" out of the LS1 F-bodies. Were they faster? Sure they were, but they difference was alot more like the aforementioned SRT-8 and Bullitt race.

they were faster... and with simple mods they were way faster because that powertrain could take the boost easy

the name "shelby" adds about 4-5K to the price of the car... good for Ford, bad for us

Priceless. You forgot to put the Corvette in front of the Camaro.

I feel that wild horses (Mustang) should be worked in there too. As opposed to neutered horses (Ford Mustang) also known as geldings.

"It doesn't matter how many horses you have under the hood, as long as you have a shiny chrome one on the hood".

Aaaahhh you crazy, cruel wannabee Camaro guys. What I don't understand is why you guys even bother with the Camaro when you can get a Corvette NOW and it's an awesome car (probably much better than the Camaro). Heck I'd love to have a C5 Z06 or a C6 Z51(or better yet a C6 Z06).
Lighter, faster, better handling, 2 seater, better looking, iconic sports/muscle car...Corvette's rock.

Id be getting a camaro over the corvette for 2 reasons...

Insurance.

and 4 seats.

but it is very, very tempting. How fast is a stock C6 LS3 vette?

0-60 in 4.0?

Don't feel bad. At least your pony has balls . Yea I would love to get a Corvette. One way or another I can't get a car until two years from now. When that day comes I'll make the call then. It just seems like I've always wanted a Camaro. I was crushed when they stopped making them since I was so far away from driving age at the time. Luckily I may be able to get a new one!

If you can afford the Camaro that you want you should be able to afford a slightly higher insurance premium. As for four seats...are you planning on ripping through the road course with the wife and kids in tow???? Go for the Vette, the best performance car value PERIOD.

the insurance on the vette would be significantly higher than a Camaro

and im still concidering the vette... but i use my backseats NOW so much that it would be harder for me to justify.

But im not going to argue, vettes are the ultimate in bang for the buck.
