3-5 times a week. I turned 49 this month, my goal is to bench press 200% of my body weight by my 50th BDay. I tore my bicep back in June12, and decided it was time to get back in shape. 90% of strength back in bicep, so now on to the main game. I did a weigh in and Bench Max last Thursday to see where I was at. Not tooo bad for an old fat man, I benched 315 on my third lift (275, 295, 315) so 335 is close and weighed in at 225. So 25 lbs to lose and 65 to pick up (198 lbs body weight 400 Bench Press). DO-ABLE at this point, if I can keep from tearing stuff up. To stay well rounded, I'm also beginning to think about a 5k or two. I'm retired military and swore, I'd never run two miles again, well, some habits are hard to break. I'm doing Herbalife and have become a distributor, might as well as much research as I did. Seems to be working 1-2 lbs a week of weight loss, better muscle tone, and still gaining strength. Gonna be an interesting year.

Good for you man. Keep at it. Don't forget to stretch before, during and after your workouts to help prevent injuries. GOOD LUCK!
Thank you for your service to the greatest Country on the planet.:flag2:

Age: 21
HT: 5' 10"
WT: 158 lbs (up 11 pounds since I started hitting the gym hard 4 months ago)

Don't really mess with bench press, but I got 90 pound dumbbells 6 times on monday for dumbbell bench..so 180 in isolated weight..pretty happy with that for now.

I love working out and stay pretty motivated..if anyone ever needs tips or motivation I am glad to help
Same here except I weigh 148 pounds. Im an ectomorph which honestly sucks. I can lift and eat as much as I want and I still cant put on mass. My strenght is really great. I do 90 dumbbells for chest and I mean clean reps. 85 pound dumbbells for shoulderpress. My arms are crazy strong, I preacher curl 135 and 140 on a good day <-- these are also clean. I started focusing on keeping all my work outs really clean now. Im happy with my strenght, just wish I could put on some size. Ive been working out since I was 14, starting going harder at the gym at 15 and never stopped. Been going 5 days a week. Have had to stop for monthes due to injuries which would make me lose the gains I worked soo hard for.

Think im going to start a cycle of creatine and try a mass gainer. I bought a mass gainer once, mutant mass, couldnt stomach it and just stopped protein shakes all together now for over 2 years. Think with the right suppliments, I can break through the my current plateau

Really? I use the wheybolic extreme 60 and I love it. It hardly has any sugar or fat in it, and the cookies and cream is a pretty good tasting protein.

I know a lot of people that like ON proteins, and if you want something a little "tastier" you can always try Muscle Milk.

It sucks being an ectomorph, but if you can't put on weight, you're not trying hard enough. Most ectomorphs don't realize how much they have to eat, and still try to eat healthy the whole time... that's probably not going to cut it for you. Getting a mass gainer will be a start. Other suggestions:

Peanut butter
Pizza
Burger King (whopper with cheese!)
Mc'Donalds (mcmuffin breakfast!)
Fattier meats (pork, 80/20 beef, etc)
Eat 6 meals (not 3 meals and 3 snacks).

Creatine will help you gain water weight, but not a lot of additional mass. If you want mass, spend that money on food. You truly might have to eat some "junk food" to get your weight up. And if you gain some fat, so what? You're an ectomorph. That will come right back off as soon as you tone it back <jealous>

I love Syntha 6. I go through 10lbs a month so I switch up flavors so not to get burnt out.

You gotta try Brainched Chain Amino Acids, (BCAA's). In my opinion, the best supplement out there for bodybuilders. They help build and repair muscle. I take 3 capsules at 15 minutes before working out and 3 capsules right after working out. I use the GNC brand.

Most whey proteins have a good dose of BCAA's, in fact BCAA's are a product of whey so if you are supplimenting with whey protein and eating animal protein, which you should be, additional supplimentation of BCAA's is not needed but that's just my opinion for what it's worth, the only exception would be if you are cutting and restricting cals enough as not to get adequate amounts and not supplimenting with whey.
