Thats the problem, as the people who were there die off, the majority forget, or even don't even get taught! :(
The eastern front of WWII dwarfs anything. Casualties of over 1M happened on multiple occasions.

Well...the only thing I can say to that is that there is a new generation of things to never forget...until the next generation. I mean...how many of us "remember" the Revolution? (I'm not downplaying any single event, just trying to make a point...)

3 grandparents that served in WWII. Paternal grandpa was a Marine and was at Iwo Jima. Maternal grandpa was in the Army and was in Germany, Egypt, Holland, and France. My step-grandpa was a Paratrooper in the Army and jumped in Normandy. Brave men these folks were. I salute them and all who gave their lives, who served, or is serving.
