i don't think knowing the engine type is a requirment to purchasing your car. actually, i bet 80% of people that buy a car don't know what type of engine they have.

I agree Aby- the site hasn't always been this way. There are times a newbie OP cannot even ask a simple question without getting bashed. And as much as you think you know "everything" about your car there are some things that will come up that you don't.....even your serviceman/ dealer doesn't.

A lot of the easy questions can be answered if some people would take the time to read the Owner's Manual. If they don't comprehend what they're reading, then they should come to the forums and search for the answer.

This is the very thing that is turning me off about this website lately.
i have noticed this too. i mean i've posted stupid questions before, i'll admit that, but i do try and search first.
when i first signed up for this forum i was like "wow people are nice here" but lately it does seem like the smart ass remarks and comments are comming from some people (my cobalt and challenger forums were like that)... like the first post... instead of backing out, starting a new thread and typing a bunch of sentences, why couldnt you just reply with "auto=L99 and man=LS3" seems much easier and the problem is solved along with helping another member. doesnt make sense to me but maybe its just because im not IGNORANT

Can I come out of "time out" now?

Well, actually C5 has always had it's members who are EXCACTLY like this. At least since I've been here. I think it may be just a new evolution of the site. A LOT of things are now known, where as before and at one point almost NOTHING was known. Just over a year ago there were NO 5th Gen owners on this site. I think it's still going well. I get really excited when I look through threads and see so many who have just joined in the passed few months. Some get really impatient, but that's becuase we are growing so fast. Maybe that's why it seems there are more negative members. Because there are more members total. It's still a great place.

And, hey, we have you core gals to liven the place up.

Or ones Ihave seen here griping because the RS does not have fog lights.

Guess my point is if you don't research it then don't complain later.
The OPs point isn't all that invalid. But we should tolerate more in order to get more people informed so we can help more people. Then we can take over the world.

I do see what you are saying, don't get me wrong.

I really do cringe when I read some negative responses to pictures of 'heavily modified/personalized' Camaros. Someone put a lot of time, money, and effort into it... and to receive a crass comment after crass comment has got to hurt a little.

"If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" comes to mind.

But I wouldn't consider that to represent the majority of Camaro5, nor do those threads stay afloat for very long here. I really do think this place is getting better by the day!

I agree with that statement... but. But I think most of us here would agree also that A Camaro isn't just A Car. (Maybe Fbodfather could say a few words here...) but I believe the Camaro was never built for the masses... it was built for the enthusiast. (Who usually brags about his/her engine.)

well, with some of the questions we are getting, obviously some of these camaro's are slipping by the enthusiasts. lol

I'm not so sure this shouldn't be in the Off Topic area at this point.

Sometimes, even people that know about cars are still surprised by what GM does.
I had an 87 IROC with the same sized wheels front and rear, but I was surprised when I noticed the wheels were marked "front" and "rear".
They were the same size, but the offsets were different so the front wheels still would not fit on the rear.

Does anyone have a 2010 Camaro that came with the spare tire instead of the inflator kit? I am curious if the diameter of the spare is where it can be used on the front and rear??? (Hopefully, GM also includes a jack somewhere?) I am going to order a 2011 2LT, and the dealer has no clue.
Anyone know???

Maybe you should start a new thread? I don't own a LT, but my understanding is that the only reason there is no spare for the SS is due to the Brembos. Therefore if I am correct, the spare that comes with the LT should fit both front and back.

How do I trun on my fog lights on my 2ss/rs and it goes on.
It's nice to see we have a member that knows everything. The next time I have a question I'll just pm you instead of starting a thread to ask a question.
