pfttt like i know anything about chrysler...........

In all honesty nothing really maybe mercedes benz electronics lol.

both companies have their set of vehicles and with the merge one company would drop most of their line of vehicles. If they merged you would see most of the SUV and pickup line of both companies go down and they would try to sell mainly compact cars.

This merge wont happen and if it does it will be a sad day.

that is all.

this wouldnt be a change for the present, it would mean better cars for the future and i see most of the cars getting cut would be compacts and other brands that have no history. to make way for shared platforms....6thgen camaro and 3rd gen challenger all on same chassis....lol

If GM is entertaining the thought of making any aquisition at this time says volumes for their financial worries or lack of concern. Wouldn't this mean they are in a lot better shape than many fear?

All auto makers have already cut back production of most of their gas guzzlers. Many trucks and SUVs are going for $10,000 below MSRP or more right now. I wouldn't expect to see a lot of models cancelled, variety is what keeps companies in business. They have to sell products that appeal to the masses.

cerebus would be investing in gm helping them out and then cerebus would then be saving money due to shared research and development funds. its a win win i think, they areny going to kill the brand names off, and i think it allows them to use the best platforms from both companies.

As long as GM never considers talking to Ford, I'm ok. If this did happen, I wonder what would happen to the Viper, Challenger, and Charger. All of the rest of the Dodge/Chrysler line, with the exception of the 300 and jeep line, could be easily replaced with existing GM.

they stay and in future iterations become more profitable due to increased savings due to shared R&D. dodge people arent going to come over to chevy just because they are part of GM/Cerebus

I am a lifelong Jeeper, so I have mixed feelings about GM and Jeep in bed together. I would love to have the quality that GM would bring to the table, but I don't want them to Hummerize the Jeep brand.

you must have missed it, hummerizing didn't work out too great. but come on some things could be cut from the jeep brand like the Compass. i think motor trend said it best when they said " the compass is the answer to a question no one asked"

Oh, I agree. I hate the Compass, and the Patriot got so bastardized. Like I said, I'm excited (very excited), but still have some reservations. On the whole, I would welcome the merger.
