Some one corrected me on one of my post so I took the high road and did not respond back. My wife always tells me "If you don't have something nice to say don't say it, it work for me.

I agree that the "Grammar Police" could lighten up a little whereas many of us have more important things to do than to concern ourselves with proof reading all of our posts.I would also think many would agree that there are some posts that are hard to comprehend. lol

I don't think this forum is too bad unless they spell their car as a Camero.

Punctuation, capitalization and grammar is stupid. There is absolutely no reason to use that nonsense! Why on earth would you want to make it easy in the reader to get your point across? Make those douchbags read your sentences and paragraphs (screw the paragraphs) three or four or even nine times to figure out what the hell you're trying convey.

Grammar police take note. This is your final warning.

While I find it painful to read some posts with grammar errors, I do not blame the author, I blame the educational system. People are not taught proper grammar the way they used to be. I think the texting culture has helped contributed to the demise of proper grammar.
And while I do not purport to be right all the time, I at least try. I do admit to being old fashioned in regards to communication.

Grammar counts. Everyone makes mistakes but if your grammar is terrible I won't even read your thread/post. So as long as you don't care to have good grammar I don't care to read poor grammar. I've seen a few people post on here and I swear they speak at a 4th grade level. I avoid their threads and posts and just keep my mouth shut.

When you work in my line of work, proper grammar is an expectation. I actually feel bad for those with bad grammar because it makes them sound un-intelligent and they don't even realize it. I have no desire to change anyones poor grammar though. It's not my problem.

There are different types of intelligence. Good grammar is a learned concept, but if an individual never grasps grammatical rules it doesn't make them stupid. It more likely speaks poorly of their teachers.

In ~1937 my dad quit school in the 8th grade to spend more time in the fields with his dad earning a living for the family. He couldn't compose a proper sentence, but that didn't stop him from becoming a hero to a small group of soldiers in France in 1944, nor did it stop him from becoming fairly wealthy in the automotive business later in life.

TL;DR: Dad couldn't tell you the difference between an averb and an adjective, but when he spoke, car guys listened.

As I said, it makes someone sound un-intelligent. More specifically it makes them seem uneducated. Never said they were not smart, just makes them sound not smart from my subjective view. I struggle with the difference of adverb and adjective, English was not my best subject either. But with todays technology the web browser even highlights misspelled words so you actually have to be incredibly lazy to suck at it. I don't have the patience to read someones post if I have to struggle to make sense of it due to their grammar. It also causes missed opportunities in real life. You are more likely to not get an interview if your resume has awful grammar. As a hiring manager for many years I would never even consider someone if their grammar was terrible. I would throw the resume right in the garbage.

Being that we all type quickly on the forums and some of us use our mobil devices, I am not talking about the grammatical error here and there. But if the post is one whole run on sentence or littered with words spelled like a 4th grade girl texting her friends....then I'm out.
