Thanks for the offer. I still have 2 Camaros & a Sierra in the driveway/garage. I'm still basicly a General Motors gal, raised by a GM dad. I just did not find a GM product in the curent lineup to meet my current daily commute challenges & that I was pleased with the look of all in one package.

I see,

Definitely appreciate the GM loyalty being shown in your family. That sums it up pretty well!

I agree OP, I needed a mid size car for travel tried the maliboohya, surge, volt, opal hahaha. Nothing out there so I had to get the 2LT. I just don't know if I could go to Nissan or any other non big three.. I will say my brother had a Nissan pick up that was horrible in the rain, but that was in the 90's LOL! Anyways congrats and good luck.

I will add to the above: that I could afford. I looked at the CTS, which I would have loved to have, but even the used ones would have put me above what I wanted for a monthly payment. We still have payments on both Camaros.

Would you of gotten a new FWD Monte Carlo if they still made one (updated not something from the 90's), or were you looking for a 4 cylinder coupe only. Mid size 4 cylinder coupes are dying out, good thing you got one of the last Altima Coupes.

There's a reason Accord Coupe is the only one left.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, if I had it my way there would be a Malibu coupe. It wouldn't sell, but there would be one.
And you 1000% correct. People wanted an alternative manual sedan to caddies and we got the regal but I doubt they sell many manuals. People are whining about the SS being an auto but manuals wouldn't sell. Count me as one who would love a non-turd Monte Carlo type but there's just not enough demand to justify building it.

OP, congrats on the Tima. Those are great cars. I really like them and they are great DDs.

I might have looked seriously at the Malibu if there had been a 6 cylinder option but it is still not very sexy looking. Yeah, something in the Monte Carlo style updated might have been nice. I wanted some style in my ride. I wanted some get-up-and-go in my daily driver so I could pass with confidence but still be able to manage safely in bumper-to-bumper traffic and in all weather. The Cruze has kept mileage off my Camaro but it spoiled my view of 4 cylinder Chevys. Then there is the every-sedan-on-the-road look to them. Just not a fan.

I drove Pepper (Yep, that is her new name - the Altima coupe), to work for the first time today. It is a very nice driving car. The keyless entry & start is pretty cool. It handled the steep hills easily with relatively low RMP's, it was easy to handle in heavy traffic & I could see well this morning in the dence fog. So far so good.

But yeah, I would have rather had a nice Chevy. :(
Still I don't feel too badly. Nissan has been pretty good to Middle Tennessee and my very first car as a teen was a Datson B210.
