yep for a year or two and then camaro gets tweaked, then mustang again. then camaro, then mustang.

its a never ending one upmanship.

just buy what you like and dont worry about the power, you can always supercharge it later

We mocked the Mustang for its antiquated mechanicals, but Ford did a great job maximizing what they had and getting everything else right, and now that they have modern mechanicals they'll be number 1, no doubt about it. The only thing the Camaro will have on it will be the styling.
Hate to say it but I tend to agree. I can't for the life of me get why they couldn't take at least a couple of hundred pounds off the chassis before using it for the Camaro.

And you know, since the V6 gets 29 MPG, you can't help but feel a little frustration knowing that a little more weight reduction, and they could have the great distinction of being rated at 30 MPG. Imagine that kind of marketing.

Great to see that Ford is making improvements. Surely brought on by their competition from the Camaro. Even still, it's a little late.

I'd hate to be one of the people who bought the 2010 mustang with the new body, only to find out they have a new, more powerful engine for probably about the same price only one year later!
Ford has done this recently, they restyled the Escape in 08 carried over the old powertrain, only to add power and mpg's in 09.

Yeah, Ford's new redesign strategy more closely resembles the 60s, whereas instead of a complete redesign, with completely new styling and new mechanicals every few years, they're now staggering less radical redesign and equipment updates more frequently.
