Let's not forget that the Malibu was a bit more upscale, less sporty version of the Chevelle in the 60's-70's........perhaps now they are reviving the musclecar side of the new improved Malibu??

I could possibly see a limited number of chevelles making there way into the line up. Something more on the collectors side. You never know what kind of stunt a company is willing to pull to sell. That said i dont see it happening soon for sure. Dodge has the Challenger for a time at least, Ford Cobra KR & Super snake. Camaro special edition or chevelle? They are heading down the road to more prestiges or limited number cars like the new super corvette coming in 4 or 5 years. The list is deep with other companies producing limited number cars, or having tuned versions galore of their popular vehicles in limited numbers. But iam just saying what i think, which is usually wrong or off topic.

![]() ![]() Top is the "Chevelle", bottom is the Volt. Am I the only one who doesn't see a distinct difference? Almost IDENTICAL, there's hardly any Camaro in the Chevelle, any more then the Volt already has. The Volt, by design, adopted similar stylings to the Camaro as that is how GM's lines work - they all share front fascias, or at least have similar ones... yes? But look at these two cars next to eachother. Same grill, identical headlights, same front vents, the hoods match almost identically. The "Chevelle" just seems to sit a little lower, which imho is how the Volt should look, it looks a bit too tall. Almost like 1st gen Camaro versus 5th gen camaro. Very similar, but the 1st gen looks like it's sitting up straight, while the 5th gen looks laid back, like a punk younger brother. |

That Chevelle picture was chopped using a current photo of the Camaro, though - that's what I meant.:p

Yes, of course it's very similar to the Volt but, and it's a big BUT, they've made it a little wider, a little lower and added a bit more muscle.
The front end of the Volt is superb. It loses it from that point back so, for me, they've taken it's best aspect and then improved the package to turn it into a gorgeous 2 door, RWD muscle car.

It is a great photoshop job, but there are a bunch of differences. 2dr VS 4dr, rear quarters, a-pillars, front fascia has similarites but also has many changes to it, stance or height, shape of hood, etc. Yes, they do look very much alike...probably because they used the two for the chop. But, they are different. Either way, I like both of them...and would also buy a Volt if 1. they made them and 2. if I was in the market for one.

Camaro will be my first Chevy, my first GM even, and if I'm happy with the service I get then I'll undoubtedly be back for a Volt a few years later as a second vehicle, if my beater dies :P
