The magic numbers to avoid the GG Tax are 15/23.

It's simply that they meet the criteria to not need the gas guzzler tax. LOL

show me another 500hp car that does better. the gas milage to power this old clunky pushrod engine is pretty amazing.

454rwhp on my mustang and averaged 26mpg between city and highway driving.

granted not a stock car that does better, and its not a v8, but it had a 100% stock longblock on it.

cough cough BS. Cough, no way you "AVERAGED" 26mpg between city and highway. That would mean you getting like 30 on the highway and 22 in the city which even when stock an pre-2011 mustang V6 was not doing that. And 26 would be impossible even if you drove 400 miles on the highway and 42 in the city which I doubt you were doing that. Your lying flat out and I'm going to respond to anything else you write after this lol.

Hopefully the next generation Camaro (2015 maybe?) will be on par with Ford in the weight department

But I will be super impressed with the New GT500 if it avoids the GG tax because with all the ZR1's supercharged glory (similar HP/Torque figures to new GT500) and a more efficient LS9 motor (compared to LSA), they still couldn't avoid the tax :(
Chevrolet should keep working on the ATS's Chassis making it as light as possible and then wait for Ford to bring out the new 6th Gen Mustang first in the next couple years. Then Chevrolet will know how much the new Mustang will weigh and will be able to see the goal weight wise to strive for. They should try to get the new 6TH Gen Camaro to weigh at least 200lbs lighter than the next Mustang then Mustangs advantage in speed will be nixed more there compairing the two.

The problem with trying to make the ATS chassis lighter is Cadillac.
