I don't know but it seems like the guys with the really fast cars don't fool around on the highways as much as the imitators do.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, a fast turd is still a turd.

Its a fact of life that some dudes with exceptionally small equipemnt (also known as Cocktail Weiner Syndrome) don't cope very well.

In these cases, said mental midgets behaving erratically on the road deserve one thing: call 911 and and report it; esp. if they appear to be drunk driving.

To answer your question. MONEY..... it is a matter of basic economics. No I do not own a honda but I have a friend how does and he explained it to me. SO I will pass on the knowledge. My friend is an excellent mechanic and helps me out alot.

He has a Honda Civic a 1994 Model Paid 2000.00. Car is in decent shape body wise, he has 7500.00 in the motor, tranny and upgrades and makes about 690 FWHP yes it is front wheel drive. The car is very light and will fly.

The motor is built with forged internals and is twin turbo charged, once he makes boost I can not touch him.

So if you have a younger person who is into cars this is the way for them to go, it is cheaper for them to build and maintain and they are FAST FAST FAST. Nowhere did I say cool, I said FAST and that is what people want is FAST, especially younger people, Just saying.....

thats true, there are some pretty quick DSM's out there. I personally drive an import as my daily driver...but it had 320hp from factory, so its a little different.

I have a 96 turbo Eclipse that I bought in 1999, and while the years have not been kind to it, there was a time that it was pretty formidable. It doesn't make near the power that my Camaro does, but for the money, it could run with or beat the V8s of the day. I paid $9,000 for the car and about $2,000 in mods (intake, exhaust, boost controller, and an old, used 14b turbo). All in all, I had $11,000 invested in a 3 year old, high 13 second car. I had a buddy that had a brand new '99 Cobra, and it use to infuriate him to no end that I could pull on him in my POS Eclipse, and believe me, it WAS a POS.

So I guess moral of the story is, some cars (especially turbo cars) respond VERY well to mods, and don't always take a ton of money. I could never go back to that now, however.

If you looked up douche bag in the dictionary, this guys picture would be used as an example. Revving up, then braking hard, swerving in my lane, acting like he literally stole it. I just shook my head and retreated back to my cruise control speed of 65.. Morons.
Yesterday coming home from work I had a Challenger R/T doing its best to climb up my exhaust in the middle of rush hour traffic on a two-lane road where the speed limit is 35mph. He was there for maybe a mile until he found a little gap in the left lane and tried to blow past me after swerving over into that lane coming within (what seemed like) an inch or two of my bumper... only to slam on the brakes without getting even half a car length ahead of me because of a U-Haul truck blocking his way. Another moron. It's a shame too because it was a good looking R/T in blue (theirs isn't as nice as our ABM but it is my favorite color), and obviously his was the more powerful car, and if he'd behaved less like the punk kid he was I'd have given him a nice thumbs up going by.

Unfortunately now that I think about it typing this, it may be the same blue Challenger R/T that's in the parking lot at work with me, so he may be a coworker.

I have always been a fan of 2g eclipses. My brother has a 90 Talon that has a Evo Turbo on it among other things, its quicker than most would expect.

Mine is a 95 3000GT VR4 Spyder. Its 16 years old but still moves well, and only has 61k miles.

Fun little cars those turbo DSMs are. That's why I still have mine, I just can't bring myself to sell it. It isn't worth near as much to anyone else as it is to me.

To anyone who wants to race on the streets, especially crowded city streets, I rev my engine .... and let them run alone!

And, yes, some of them are in laughable vehicles. I figure a huge percentage of those people are just admiring the car and want to see you run it, not that they actually think they can win.
