I remember when my brother first got his mustang. It was the first car he had that didn't have a 4cyl. He came across a kid in an eagle talon (mitsubishi eclipse) and thought he'd stomp him. Yeah. NOPE! He said his jaw dropped as the kid zoomed of in the distance. He said he didn't even stand a chance. LOL So I never play unless I know my chances.

As cool as that is, I don't understand why you'd put all that money into doing this when you could get an LS1 F-Body or Vette and clean it up for a lot less.

And what's this "different" agenda? From what I've seen (and I maintain the V6 fast lists, so I've seen a lot) a base model V6 with a properly set up and tuned nitrous kit would give a stock SS a drivers race, and that's at around 25,000 total investment. It might not have the same "maximum" if you work it all the way to the limit, but we also have a V6 running mid 12s with nitrous and full bolt ons. If the agenda is to go fast, I think that qualifies. Not to mention that nobody's gotten into the internals yet. Closest is BMWDon's ported heads/intake, and he's not done with that yet.

Those Japanese horses just aren't as big as those American horses for some reason!

"Most" (not all, MOST) V6 owners are looking for style points, fuel mileage and something fun to drive. "Many (not all, MANY) SS owners want something fast, handles well and is fun to drive. "Many" owned previous muscle cars from the past, many fall in the "older" column (like myself).

There is a difference in the target-market for a LS/LT Camaro and an SS Camaro, nothing wrong with either. Mine just happens to be a garage queen, some folks look down on me for that, some think it's great.

Yes, you can bolt-on NOS to a LS/LT and pull great numbers, you can also do a TT setup and flog about anything, I just prefer to do it with a V8 & supercharger.

oh lawd stop the 'you can make x car x as fast with x amount of money' debate. if your ultimate goal is a mid 12s car for lower $ amount, why did you pick such an expensive car to begin with lol. you can do it for much less then 25k.

your agenda typically *is* different if you picked the v6. as he said, not better, not worse, just different.

Actually, there was no talk of getting ANY car into the mid 12s. The topic was specifically 5th Gen Camaros.

And in his original post (which he gracefully amended in his reply), he said "your agenda" not "the typical V6 camaro buyers agenda." Which is clearly not the case here.

Dude, learn how to type. Don't take bad about the SE-R. I use to own one. They are great cars for the price and the are great on the Autocross track. I got my loaded SE-R for $18,000. The thing got 30 MPG daily driving, and cornered like it was on rails.

LOL. If you want to correct grammar and typing, you should probably proof read your own post prior to posting it. It's "talk", not "take". Anyway, I wasn't making a commentary on the car so much as the driver of said car. The guy was being a d-bag, which was also the point of the OP if I'm not completely mistaken. I'll agree that they're fun little 4 cylinder cars for the money, though.
