THIS. If you want to throw LS/LT Camaros in the mix, I'd still say 95% of Civics couldn't keep up. Just my experience. Oh, and BTW, my last beater was a Civic. I got it for $2k and put a new suspension under it because the jackwagon that owned it before me thought that the most cost effective solution to lowering it was to torch the springs. He also had put a __________ (home made) CAI in it and a "sport" muffler. After I put some sensibly sized wheels/tires under it again (the guy put some J.C. Whitney 18" wheels/tires on it) and got the suspension buttoned up, it was semi-livable. Still, it was no race car and it was too small for my 6'2" frame. A race car, it surely wasn't. But hey, it did get decent gas mileage.

THAT WAS SAAAAWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

btw, I Love your Monte Carlo avatar. I was looking for one for an LSX swap before I sweet-talked my wife into our current SS. I'd still buy one if I could find it for a good price.

yea the ricers are bad but in my area its the dam euro dingle berry sack lickers who kick up the most dust. I mean these guys drive around in their 1984 vw jettas and golfs lowered shitboxes and think they have the meanest street machines around. And when you hand their ass to them they start talking about what they would do if they had money to build thier dream car or what someone elses car would do, blahblahblah. Then say they would come back and it would be a different story.

still, it doesn't take much ricing up to beat a V6 camaro, period. I say at least 50% of riced up imports out there can at least hang with the V6.

Just FYI, you don't need 500whp on a civic to compete against a v8. 300-350 will do the job done, or ar least be a drivers race.

The only 'ricers' that gave me pause in my Camaro when i had her were Supras. But by my definition, those weren't rice, they were modified imports. Rice = crappy body upgrades that don't fit, stupid sounding exhaust that doesn't do much for you, and no performance upgrades to speak of. I give full respect to a properly modified import... but will still laugh at it if it has a ridiculously large wing on the back
