Maybe the Viper ACR but that is even a big maybe.
Either way you are the one making the claim. And then showing you don't know shit about it. Edit: after looking at ACR MSRP I wouldn't put the ACR in the same price range as the GTR. |

Not in the least. Would never have one personally.
I can respect the performance that Nissan is getting out of the thing though. Unlike others in this thread. I also don't like people making claims when they don't have the slightest clue what they are talking about. |

There is simply not enough information coming from the article. which model was it? what options did they use?
i remember from the press release back when nissan got the "improved" 7'26 time around the 'ring they had a single line in the article that changed everything. The "stock" GTR that they brought had the tires from the JDM spec V. Nissan definitely likes to sugar coat their times. Porsche called them out once, and i expect them to do it again. |

to sax,
I'm having a hard time figuring out what your mad at, I originally said that the GTR doesn't race relevant races or races like a comparable Corvette would race, for example le mans. GM chooses to compete on the highest level with a similar platform to what Nissan is offering while Nissan does not. GM has had success with their platform at said highest level, while Nissan is dealing with warranty claims and litigation. All of the evidence forces me to believe that the GM product is superior. The GTR doesn't even show up to major events that the vette has won championships in but people would have you believe that the Nissan is "great" or "better" than what we make on our own soil. Sorry, I don't believe the hype. |

As for relevant races, as a buyer of a car, who cares? I am certainly NOT buying a CHevy Impala because it races in Nascar......... |

![]() The corvette's racing in the le mans are not comparable at all to the corvette's you buy at the dealership. That is like me talking about john force's mustang and how it has dominated at the dragstrip and asking what has the camaro done. |

I just read a motortrend review on the 2012 GTR. It's got 40 more HP and a retuned suspension. They said that they thought it's track times were going to be much quicker. Apparently, they were correct.
Personally, I hate the GTR styling. It reminds me of an '80s car that evolved without ever having a full model replacement. It's just an ugly car to me. I'd love to drive one and see what all the fuss is about though! I can't imagine it being the same kind of experience as a ZR1. If you could just get all that power and torque in a ZR1 under complete control, you would be way ahead of the GTR. Chevy did a better job in the 2010 ZR1 than they did in '09. Maybe the '11 or '12 will be under better control? We'll see!

I commented earlier that maybe endurance racing will help Nissan build a more reliable performer, same concepts apply. |

This is what people are talking about. The Nissan does not have this pedigree. Also, the Nissan makes bold claims of it's track prowess and ability to launch 0-60 in under 4 seconds. However, do so and you will void your warranty when it breaks. Further: Nissan uses GPS to track your car. It breaks on a racetrack...your warranty is VOID. So, go ahead and take your GT-R V-spec to the Nurburgring and Tie a ZR1's time. Just pray is doesn't break. GM will fix your ZR1 and Ford will fix your Mustang...however, Nissan will take your Yen and walk. Great performance car. For something that is meant to be a garage ornament brag piece, its not even sexy to look at. The Corvette, the Camaro, The Mustang, The Challenger...on a rainy day I could sit and sip a beer and at least look at them. The GT-R is just ugly from all angles.
