Why is a test showing a faster time for the mustang any more significant than one showing a slower one? and vice versa....you are doing/did the same thing.

But as it stands...if this was a court case....2 out of 3 tests favor the camaro that were done on the same track on the same day.

Dont get me wrong though...If I had to guess I would say the mustang would most likely be slightly faster. The main reason I posted this is to show that mag times can be all over the place and dont really mean a whole lot. In the end I look mostly at the traps the cars have been putting up across all tests and they are virtually dead even. (if you get the good tires and gears on the stang)

No, it seems the Mustang is either a tick ahead with the optional gears and tires or a tick behind without them. I love that Ford gives the option that if you want a little more performance, care about performance numbers, and want the best pony car available on the market, then you can option the car that way. Or if you don't really care for the numbers as much, you don't need to pay a premium for something you hardly care about.

Considering the camaro has gone 12.5.

I would say the new GT (with optional gearing and tires that you dont have to pay extra for in the camaro btw) 12.4. Possibly 12.3. Its traps are nearly identical to the camaro...but I think someone will probably be able to cut a better 60ft eventually with the stang given its SRA.

I would be surprised if Evan Smith doesnt pull at least a 12.5.

without the gears and brembo with better tires the 2011gt will lose every time. the gt/cs has option limitations. it does not have the tires on my car.

it requires 3.73's and good tires to win consistently IMO. without it the SS will win every time.

The slower times are to be expected with the all season tires.

look. the mustang HAS LESS POWER. it just does. who wins hands down will depend on weight and gearing for the stang. they can be optioned PIG HEAVY. get one with standard gearing and a little extra weight, the stang will be way slower. add 245/45-18 or 235/50 18 a/s tires the car will have without brembos, the car is a loser.


we all knew standard tires are a joke on cars. we all knew standard equipped stangs are going to be slower than m6 SS's. (those who use reason)


the ford boys who thought they could option the hell out of the car and ignore physics are going to be upset. they will change tires and gears. those who thought the stang had more power, or was just plain faster from amagazine will be shocked. IMO. they have to be optioned to kill stock SS's easily.
